Nope.  I'm cool my brother.  No shaving gear for me.  I've also sworn off Bugattis, Lamborghinis, and villas in Saint Tropez or Cannes - for the month of January, that is.  OTOH, if the Stihl Farm Boss's go on sale, I might - just maybe - cave (although I hear they're a little awkward under the nose).

Awe, no Bugattis, Lamborghinis, and villas in San Tropez? C'mon. I don't know about you, but I'm down with drinking champagne like a good tycoon .

Hmm... Probably the wrong thread for quoting song lyrics.

So this evening I shaved with the WK Dulci Tobacco again. I must have gone back to this soap 4 or 6 times since Dave sent it to me. I really dig the dark, spicy, almost but not quite sweet scent.

This then got me looking through my soaps. I probably need to reorganize my collection, so I can better see and more readily use other things. Nonetheless, I am not wanting for anything. I have some great soaps that I really love. The span several different scent notes and categories and really do offer me plenty of choice.

While I really am digging the PAA cube, I feel like this mandatory hold on purchases will give me time to really think if I like it more than using my Post-shave balm as a preshave. By now I would have had 2 or 3 cubes. Maybe it would have been a good choice, maybe not. However, with my January sabatical, I will know for sure before I pull the trigger on a backup (or backups).

Just some random thoughts.

What incredible determination, steel-like resolve, and ironclad commitment! With this kind of leadership, all I can say is "I'm in!"

But 2021 taught me that whole month without ordering more soap or another razor is well beyond my grasp. Still, I just might be able to make it through today without hitting the PayPal button. And maybe I can get through tomorrow.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, PLEASE tell me you were going to participate in this January no spend!!! Or this was your intention? Did you make 48 hours no soap, splash or balm?

Lololololololol, the deeper I read into this thread I almost feel the need for snacks
ExtraProtein: I'm a part of this bold enterprise! But I'm not in whole hog. My restraint only goes so far as soaps, razors, and brushes. Splashes, balms, blades, and talcs are still on the table.
So, baby steps for you… see you over in the usual soap spot, I’ve got 2 newbies….

Just some random reactions ... IMO Sri & Co. did a nice job on the Dulci Tobacco.  It's their first cream so far as I know.  As for reorganizing the den, what better time than a restraint to get reacquainted with old friends?  Last but not least - a reaction to your previous post (#114) - which is to say:  Thanks for the lyrics.  They were far from out of place for me.  I remember when the song was released.  Not their biggest hit, but it is 21° and 50 years later as I write this, so it's hard to beat a few minutes of daydreaming about old lovers on a warm, even elegant beach.  (So what if these lovers were for the most part the ones I pined for. Rolleyes )

HighSpeed Alas, I am too young to remember that albums release. Still, San Tropez is a nice little gem. Different, but in a nice way. In fact, oddly enough, I think the first Floyd song I heard may have been 'Not Now John', which I won't post here because vulgarity and all that. The Final Cut was an awesome Album. Quite a few good songs, IMO.

Regarding WK, they actually released a second cream (I believe somewhat recently). It's their 'Peach Karma's scent. From his site:

"It combines the scents of peach and blood orange with red ripe raspberries and just a hint of Artemisia, Vanilla and woody notes creating a redolent scent that’s as fruity and alluring as it is sweet. Inspired by Bitter Peach perfume by Tom Ford."

I like sweet soaps, so this is definitely a possibility for me (which I post in the Sabatical thread... Ironic, huh? Lol)[Image: c1a02e1c7ae5f53e8b3d5f74457d9100.jpg]

Edit: I removed the voluminous quote to save space and cut off my original post. Fixed (and then some. Lol).

...and just like that, I failed.

Got a notice last night that Karve was releasing a batch of the Overlander. I really wanted to try this razor, so I jumped on a few minutes ago (release is 11am EST) and grabbed one.

It was worth it... I hope.
