What happened here?

Nada just teasing. The cap attaches to the internal pin same as the Rex and Taiga since Murat updated the design last year. Uses a ball pin to lock in like the paradigm cap.  Nice design.

EDIT:  the knurling is deeper and the cap text has to face away from the anchor symbol.

For comparison, in the second pic from top to bottom, 2019, 2021, and the 2023 Hybrid.

It's good he corrected contrast in those two Ti panels, up and down...they were hideous.
Looks nice now. I might even be tempted now.

You know, I always thought he called his adjustable the Sailor because of the boat-like
shape of the baseplate (this pic by deus vult illustrates it best):

So even though he hasn't used 'Sailor' to describe this Hybrid model, I believe it still is a Sailor.

Just goes to show how YMMV comes into play in this hobby, I think the contrast between Ti and SS is what made the razor attractive!! I believe LOOT said the same thing...

For a guy who does not own a Rocnel but has been wanting one do you suggest buying a used one (Just saw a 2022L Sailer for $400) or going with the Hybrid Ti once back in stock?  Right now my favorite Razors are the WR2 1.55, and my Blackbird Ti. I have loved the fit & finish of the Sailors but have been scared of the heft of them but I figure it's worth a try.

The hybrid solves the heft „problem“ to 100%.

I love the contrast. I have several full polished ones already. It make the hybrid easy to pick in a lineup.

If weight is a consideration, go hybrid. Can't go wrong with either tho.

I've got the Osprey inbound. Hopefully that one works out too. It's roughly $400 with a stand, so in the ballpark.

As with all other adjustables, I'm concerned it won't open up for enough. A 1.4mm gap might not be enough...but the .58 on a BB shave like a much higher gap. Hope Shane worked the same kind of voodoo. The Osprey will have to deliver in spades to take shave time from the Sailor hybrid.

Every time I read about gaps this image of my Leresch 77 pops into my head.  The 2020 Sailor gap looks dangerous when wide open but is comfortable and efficient, surprisingly so.  No idea if the gap numbers have changed in the line since then.[Image: QotMpDU.jpg][Image: CQt3g2i.jpg]
