Thanks
Bullgoose has the standard '22 with no stand for $500. Or you can go pre-order the '22L model that comes with a stand for the same $500...but you are gonna wait until May for it to ship.

The recent video was the introduction of the L and MC models. Pre-orders are at Rocnel.com

Murat is always updating the Sailor, it seems. It’s a bit like iPhones - it’s probably futile to wait for the new one because there will be another new one in a while. The 2022L should ship around May, but the 2023L will only be another six months after that. Look at it from another angle and what you bought was essentially the same as the 2021 Master Collection for $200 less, and only six months after. The 2022 was brilliant value. You could certainly think the 2022L is an even better buy, but you would have to wait, and what about the 2023L in November?

Still, I thought it was unfortunate timing for Bullgoose to receive stock of the 2022 the same time that Murat publicises the new 2022L. He is probably slightly unhappy about that. But if he had been switched on he probably should have agreed something with Murat about delaying the announcements until the 2022s were sold.

I just ordered the 2022 from Bullgoose and I know there’s no stand but I didn’t want to wait till May. I’ve been wanting to get a Sailor back in my den but was waiting hopefully for a Titanium version but it looks like that may be a long ways off and if it does become available I’ll deal with that then. I’ve got a razor stand that I use for my rotation of razors so if I had one it would be stored away in the box it came in anyway.

Looking forward to my first shave with this updated model and compare it to the 2021 I had that I sold thinking the Titanium was coming out an I enjoyed that razor a lot and definitely had remorse for selling it after finding out the Ti was a long ways off. A few razors left my den when I got the 2021 and I suspect a few more will be leaving soon now that I’ve got a Sailor back in my den. With its many settings realistically it could replace many of my razor from the mild to the most efficient and everything in between. This and the WR3 were the only razors I had a strong desire to get, so one down and one to go!

I told Murat I would buy back in when the razor sheds 30 grams and improves the grip. I admire his commitment to R&D. Unfortunately releasing it peace-meal creates outdated models very frequently. I did inform him this would dissuade sales as it did for me
Stated perfectly by Moriarty above.

Ps-2022L gained 16 grams total 150
He did say the weight balance is perfectly divided into thirds but it’s going the wrong direction for my preference.

It sounds like the disassembly capability adds weight. That might be why he went down the no disassembly route in the first place?

Maybe I'm alone here, but the current weight suits me fine. I think it smooths out the shave.

How much extra if I want one with the numeral ring in silver tone? Also, a slightly shorter, fatter handle, with better grip would make it perfect.  Winking

I think Rex uses same ball-point.

Interesting. I've never held a Rex.

Adjustable handle length would be a huge improvement.

I remembered wrong, Rex doesn't have pin. His handle is not stable.
