I've been out of town for a week and left the Sailor at home.  I missed it.
I own no other Sailors, but I suppose weight is relative - the 2021 MC weighs in at almost 140 g, so right now the heftiest razor I own.  I believe the 2021 has a shorter handle (described elsewhere), and may be slightly wider (others can weigh in).  The knurling may be more shallow also, but at least on mine, it's sharply cut and provides an unexpectedly good grip.  The top cap profile does appear to be flatter than earlier versions, and I have no trouble getting it under the nose and around corners - in spite of the bulk of the razor, the head is remarkably maneuverable.  The setting indicators appear to be laser-engraved or maybe even inlaid in the case of the "zero" mark, and against the gold background of the MC are actually fairly hard to see.  That said, it's probably the best adjustable I've ever used as far as shaving quality, and in spite of reported quirks is my #1 go-to razor now.  The Master Collection Edition that I own may be slightly different than the standard 2021, but I believe they are substantially similar.

I get the distinct feeling that my first purchase of this line may be my last.  Not because I don't like it, but because I don't think my experience so far can be topped by a revision.

Do you like the soap? It is the first PAA I have used. The soap scent is very sweet with no sandalwood or Bourbon I could find. Mot really my cup of tea and I almost sent it back. Then I opened the splash and got those notes. Glad I picked it up. Curious to know what you think.

Actually like it a lot - similar to Southern Witchcrafts' Samhain, and does (to me) have a little more Sandalwood-y note - a seasonal Fall scent for sure if you categorize your soaps that way.  I have quite a collection of PAA's soaps, and like SW's they are probably some of the best vegan soaps around - PAA's CK-6 is a match for the best tallows IMO.  PAA's fragrances do tend to be lingering (like B&M's), but for all around performance I've found them to be great. They also tend to be somewhat quirky (with labels to match) - one of my all-time favorites is their Rabid Banana (yes, it is).  Samhain may be one of those fragrances that grows on you, and drydown (on me) seems to be more on the woody than sweet side, but it's become one of my favorite pre-Winter soaps for the changing season (switching over to B&M's First Snow, Vespers and Dickens soon!  Tongue ).

Mine too has been incident-free so far....he did say that letterings or plating could be affected if one uses chemical
based cleaning agents like isopropyl alcohol etc. Only water and soap is recommended.

I still wouldn't call the grip "unexpectedly good" ....it's average at best to my observation...guess we are
different in our experience.

Thanks for the detailed response. This is also the the first vegan soap I've used and agree it is as good as any tallow I've used. Also, agree it lingers. I bought the edp too and it lasts all day which is nice. I try to keep my soap cravings in check but I gotta admit, this was a great addition to the stable.

"Unexpected" because it looks like with a little water and soap it would be ungrippable.  But in fact, at least to me, it is.  Not the best grip (but "good"), not without drying hands, nowhere near the Rex (my touchstone example of the best) but usable when I didn't expect it to be, even with a razor the weight of the MC.

Correct, I agree handle needs to be kept as dry as possible (YMMV)

I have to wipe down the handle a few times mid shave.

Its a PITA but the results outweigh the annoyance

The other end of the razor grip spectrum for me, and my zero baseline - the polished Asylum Evo.  Short grip, rolled and polished engraving and points (unlike the sharp lines and softer finish of its progenitor the Darwin), essentially no knurling and relatively heavy.  Even with dry hands, a danger to life and limb.  Love the design, and actually it shaves nice - with caution - but "challenging."

That is gorgeous. I can imagine the extra care needed during handling. My baseline or dare I say sub-baseline would be the Merkur Progress..like a 3 year old child with skates on ice the very first time, especially with a soapy handle.

Different story with me when shaving with cold water. I usually rinse and wash it off with water if I happen to get some soap on the handle. Once the cold water hits the handle for a few seconds, it leaves a layer of condensation that helps me with the grip.
