This is very concerning to hear.

I made it short video but I don't believe the link from imgur is staying after I put it so I don't know how to post that.

Living on the edge
I wasn't gonna mention this but after reading about the 'wiggle', well here goes.

So I am 100% sure I saw a Rocnel 2021 being offered for sale maybe 12-15 hours ago.

Now that's perfectly fine I reckon...but that ad has just vanished off this site. Its not even archived.
Normally, folks just say item withdrawn or something similar.

Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Guys, I just checked and my 2021 and 2020 have some wiggle especially on higher gap settings and this with the blade loaded. My 2019 doesn’t have any wiggle. It doesn’t affect the shave at all and I think it’s because of the spring system in both. I had never even noticed it until this was brought up. I also have the titanium and original Taiga and because there is another plate added to their design, there is no wiggle. But, the Sailors are the best shavers in my den so I could care less about the wiggle and floating head design.

I saw the video that was sent to me, thank you.

So upon further examination, my older Sailor does exhibit the rattle, but nowhere near to that of the video.

It's the loudest on settings 3-5, but is pretty much dead quiet on the other settings.

I've never really noticed until now, since I usually either use settings minimum, 1-2 or use settings 5+1 (6) or beyond.  That means I am either daily shaving or every other day, or growing out my beard for a few weeks or months then hacking it off.  I actually use my 2020 more frequently for head shaves, and that doesn't require higher settings as my hair is thinning, as opposed to my wire-like beard.

I guess just as long as there are no further issues other than just a little innocuous noise, we are good to go.

I sent Phil an email with the short video of the razor.
Phil replied  saying that is just normal but he also forwarded it to Murat which agreed, saying it was like shock absorbers.
I did get a shave in this morning it was a very nice one too, I like it.

I have a reasonable theory for the increase in rattle between 2020 and 2021

If you look at page 2 there is a side by side of the heads. You will notice the base, which is pushed up by the springs, is thinner in 2021 for weight reduction.  I think due to this there is less tension( or compression in this case) acted on the spring. While I still do not believe it affects the shave due to level ness and maintained symmetry it likely accounts for the extra springiness.

Hey all,

On Loots recommendation I grab a sailor and I note what is on the box related to a loaded razor..  So not a QAQC issue.

It disappeared because the OP broke the bst rules by not posting photos in the listing. He's since added photos and I just moved it back. No biggie!

I checked mine and the wiggle doesn’t happen until setting 5 with or without the blade in it and from there up the wiggle is the same. It’s more of a sound that seems to be coming from the inside and I’m not going to worry about it as I don’t think it will effect the shave at all. Reason I say that is I was doing a no blade in the razor shave with it going as far as I could on the settings and I noticed no difference in feel meaning it didn’t wiggle when I was shaving with it and I could not hear the “ wiggle sound “ so I’m not going to give it any more thought.
Oh and i noticed if you shake it side to side like as if it were a hammer the sound is not as loud as if you shake it if you holding it like your going to shave with it.
Maybe it’s just the springs touching something when shaken.

Just gonna enjoy the shaves I get with it.
