Feather. A pack of unopened feathers were included as well. I use almost exclusively KAI or wizamets
lately but the gesture is always appreciated. I usually PIF all other blades or include in bst listings.

Just received my 2021 Sailor I also had a Feather blade loaded. One question for anyone, there is a triangle marker on the baseplate but no marks on the Top cap to line up. Is this how yours are. Usually that is put there to line up top cap and base. I know if you are reading Rocnel on the Top cap you want the little tab on the handle toward the back for it to line up.

Congrats ! The rocnel text should face away from the sailor text on the handle. Like this

The blade musta been intentional then. Seems like there woulda been a warning note.

Last evening I loaded up my Rocnel with an Astra SP blade. First thoughts is that this is a beautiful razor with the different finishes on the SS giving it character. It is a heavy razor, especially since I have been using mostly Ti razors and the much lighter SS Tatara Muramasa. It is well balanced with a grip point similar to the one shown by LOOT Lathered up ETHOS lavender and set the level to 1. I had a 48 hr beard so this was a good test for the Rocnel. WTG pass took down most of my wirey gray beard with ease. There was very slight blade feel but it was extremely smooth and I actually enjoyed the shorter handle as my pinkey could rest comfortably at the base.
Re lathered and went ATG on level 2. This was extremely smooth and other than a few small touchups I was wife approved  BBS.  Having used the original Barbaros & Rocnel adjustable and the Rocnel sailors excluding the 2020 I think this may be the smoothest of all of them, yet retaining the efficiency of the 2019. This is only a one shave impression and I plan on slowly dialing it up to see how long the smoothness lasts. This morning 12 hours post shave I am just starting to feel some stubble when I rub ATG. That’s impressive for a 2 pass shave using the 2 lowest levels.
I have a collection of vintage and modern adjustable razors as I am fascinated by their engineering and plan on doing some shave comparisons once I get a good handle on this new Rocnel. My collection is not as good as others on this forum but it should give a reasonable comparison of popular vintage and Modern adjustable razors.

Mine arrived yesterday and as others have mentioned was loaded with a Feather blade. Also came with a pack of them in the box. My favorite blades so a bonus. Presentation was very nice and I agree with others on the fit, finish and it’s unique looking which i like. Feels really good in hand which Im happy about as II had some concerns on the 75 mm handle length. Its well balanced.
Going to shave with it tonight which will be 2 1/2 days growth. With that amount of growth I could pull out a number of razors like the Blackland Ti , WR2 1.35 SB, Yates H plate and Rex on 5 setting for example so any suggestions on what setting to use for my first shave with the Sailor? Based on my week long experience with a 2019 I was thinking setting 2 or 3. I don’t know how the shaves going to go but so far I like this 2021 much better than the much heavier 2019. So can’t wait to take it for its first spin.
