Hope this helps for anyone sitting on the fence.  I have not tried the Taiga or the Tatara adjustable but all others I have owned and sold.  The Sailor stays in the shave Den.

Special thanks to LOOT for answering my questions!

Glad you are loving it!  Once Murat makes a titanium version and I get that one to add to my Sailor collection, I think I will be completely done buying razors……I think!!
That LOOT guy is pretty cool and knowledgeable isn’t he??!!  James is the MAN and is always available to answer questions and converse about this wet shaving stuff!!  He keeps me on my toes about my brush addiction too!

Thanks for the kind words, G.  It has been fun watching your lack of brush self control from the inside.  I commend your eternal optimism in returning to "normal".  You know there is a word for guys like you? Hahaha!

For a balanced physique one should use both hands. Meanwhile I have been around the dial twice, no cuts or wheepers, not a setting for daily use but surprisingly good shave none the less. 4, 5 and 6 are my favourite settings. (same with the 2020)

So I had to try it as I had some time this morning.  So for my Father’s Day shave I decided to do a one pass shave with the Sailor on what would be I believe setting # 12. I used very aggressive skin stretching so basically used the Sailor like a straight razor with a somewhat shallow angle and absolutely no pressure. So was there some blade feel from the new Polsilver blade?  Yes. Was it harsh? Nope not at all. At this setting I certainly wouldn’t call it butter smooth but I was actually shocked at how this razors effectiveness at being all things. In other words like having a dozen different razors all in one.

I ended up with a one pass BBS that’s lasted 11 hours!  I’m not sure there’s ever going to be the need to go beyond this setting again but my curiosity has been answered.

Hats off to Stirling for making a shave soap and splash that is a interpretation of Fico Di Amalfi by Acqua Di Parma. A personal Summer time favorite of mine since it was released way back.  Honestly I was going to do my interpretation of the scent for this summer but got a little behind schedule so no need to now.  So good job Stirling!

Hope all you dads had a great Fathers Day!

I bumped it up to setting 8 for an efficient shave with some Barrister’s Reserve. This is probably close to the upper limit for me but still a relatively smooth shave...

Very nice! It's a struggle for me to shave with anything other then those the last months.
