My previous experience was limited to Taiga (steel) and Sailor 2003 Hybrid (borrowed from a friend).
The Taiga was a smooth but blade corners were scratching my face while using it parallel to ground. Why like that? My hair growth in my neck is rearwards. Normally I use straight razor or shavette. But I can’t get a close shave below the jawline with them. So I use safety razor for additional ATG passes.
Before that my best razor was Charcoal Goods Gen3 Lv1 followed by Tatara Masamune. This was a good addition.
In the case with Hybrid Sailor. Beside a good (but not as good with Titanium head) ATG performance, I felt that razor head was heavy and the razor was heavy also. It was smooth but was not as with Titanium. The design of razor was heavy so I thought that it will benefit more from Titanium lightness. Then I contacted with Murad (I’m living in Turkiye like him). He advised steel but I opposed to him. He talked about to releasing near end of this year but, after sometime he decided to bring earlier (May).
In overall, even though it’s a high investment, I think it’s worth for every penny. It can be considered as one of the best developed razor design, if not the best one.
Full Titanium adds more smoothness in a lighter weight to steel one.
P.S. rocnel Murad, you know, what I’m asking for the future. Alp Wink
I apologies for my mistakes as the English is not mother tongue.

Welcome to DFS! Thanks for joining us and sharing your thoughts. Your English is fine. No issues understanding you at all.

How often do you shave? What are your favorite settings to use? Do you adjust the razor between passes?

Im trying to gauge the sales of this razor. It helps me understand if I'm missing out on something spectacular.

LOOT
I’m shaving twice weekly. In each shave, I just go for a BBS quality.
As I said before my main tool of shaving is a straight razor or shavette (50mm). If I use shavette, I limit its usage to only one pass. If I decided to use a shavettte and an adjustable, I’m setting to 4 usually for the first safety razor pass. Then I use the shavette for the second pass.
In case of the final ATG passes. I use the lowest possible setting. But just with orange Asco blade.

I've never used a straight or a shavette but often wondered if a Sailor at setting 8 or so cut like a straight.

I'd say setting 6 would be similar. No need to go higher, but you can if you'd like.  Big Grin
