2016 DFS LE Brush - Envy Shave

Judging from the early response is 150 brushes going to be enough?

Might not be, but isn't that kind of the point of an LE?

I must be the only one thinking 150 is too many for a forum of this size. It looks to be a great brush regardless.

Did I miss the details on numbering, engraving etc?

@bruce I thought so at first, but we've got about 25 people committed in two days and that's before seeing the final prototype so who knows. From experience orders will increase dramatically once There is a prototype to show with the color engraving etc. The idea was to give everyone a decent chance to get one if they really wanted one. Fence sitters may or may not be able to get one.

I don't want to sound rude here, but have I (or Marko or @rogue13) done something to warrant not giving us a reply, even if it's a "Sorry, this is only available to people inside the US?".

Especially since @rogue13 only asked about getting the synthetic, which shouldn't be subject to any export issues.

We're looking into options for our users abroad. We have some time to figure out if it's feasible or not.

But yes, I believe that synthetics can be sent abroad without issue. envyshave, please confirm.

no problem. it's certainly not the easiest thing to make an item that is easy to obtain all around the world while still being unique.

Hi Null , thanks for your concern - I haven't been banned as far as I know I was also concerned at the silence and I did PM one of the mods to discuss further. Its basically as andrewjs18 says that its being looked into. The whole export of fur products business has been touched on in earlier posts several months ago in relation to discussion of a wolf whisker brush. Its the law in the US and there's nothing the DFS crew can do about it.

Its an interesting area the issue of where a product is considered to have been "made" and thereby entitled to label itself as such. It generally has to do with where the preponderance of the cost of manufacture is spent. So if Envy Shave buys badger knots from China at a small price and imports it into the US where he makes a handle and a package and some marketing outlay the cost of the knot is a tiny percentage of the cost of making the brush so it can be labeled as "Made in The USA" and the government will consider it as such and treat it accordingly, i.e., you can't export US made fur products. Its the same approach that allows a company to catch, process and freeze seafood in the South China Sea (or wherever) and then import it to Canada where its put in a package that says "Product of Canada" on it. The box was the biggest cost in the production chain. Makes total sense right?
