Gentlemen, good evening! Damn Fine Shave, let me say I hope all of your weeks have been great. Things are doing good and today I squeezed in a quick shave. I have noticed a few things lately that I will share here in the SOTD forum.
In regards to brushes pairing with soaps, I have found that a small/medium (one pictured is a 24mm) badger brush that isn't overly dense works best for me when I use a soap that previously might have given me issues. I find that the Felce Aromatica 4.3 is great lather, but not as thick or dense as others SV offers so I try to use a brush that will help me best control the texture and consistency of the lather. Today I was very happy with the results of the pair.
I am still having trouble with my beard and skin when it comes to daily shaving. The day or even 2 days growth after a previous shave is enough for my stubble to show. But it still seems like whether its a mild or aggressive razor, the beard doesn't seem to come off as easily as it might with 3-4 days growth with is optimal for my skin. I will probably experiment more with blades and continue to go first pass against the grain to alleviate my skin irritation with a multi pass shave.
Anyways, I don't always write in my SOTD post but I would encourage more of you gentlemen to add some comments on their posts. It would be great to hear whats going well and where you may want to improve your shave. My best regards to you all and cheers!
