Soap makers kindly offer soaps and an accompanying after shave, and often a balm in the same scent.  Most often I don’t purchase the “set”.  Usually it’s because my soap choice and my scent choice are often wildly different.  Soap?  I’m pleasing me!  Scent? I’m pleasing (or not offending) those around me.  Besides, I have a very few post-shave products I really like and don’t wander around like I do with soaps.

My son on the other hand buys everything in a set.  It seems like a lot of gents cotton to his method.  How about you?  Are you a set guy?  Why?

I don't like wearing scented aftershaves / cologne. Usually the scent bothers me after some time, and my wife is sensitive to scents.

So, I'm very much in the 'no set' camp.

We sell a significant number of sets but, lone soap sales still rule.

I’m in the “not to set” group. I rarely buy the matching scent as I don’t like to wear anything that I can smell more than an hour after I shave.

I am a recovered set guy and if looking at a new soap it's generally for just the soap. My exception is Ethos which is a MUST have the set as his Skin Food Splash is the "bees knees" for me.

Like others, I was always about the set. No more. For me, it was a waste of money.

I enjoy trying out different soaps, but I never bother to get the matching splashes or other extras.
With all of my soaps, I use the same Speick Aftershave. It works well, and while I enjoy the scents of the soap while shaving, I don't want them to linger for hours.

Is the Speick AS unscented or very low scented?

It has a pleasant scent, not overpowering like some aftershaves. It goes with all the soaps I have tried it with.
