My review is of the tallow version of this soap. Wholly Kaw soaps are available in both tallow and vegan. I don't know how the vegan version compares although I'd have no concerns ordering a vegan soap from Wholly Kaw as their attention to detail is excellent.

I have 2 WK soaps now, this one and Chypre Rose Concerto also in tallow and I'd have no problems adding more WK soap to my already impressive soap collection. Thats a good thing right?

This soap lathers wonderfully quickly creating a rich, creamy and thick lather with either a boar brush (semogue) or badger (Thater) sufficient for a very comfortable 5 pass shave.

The skin feel of this soap is slick and very nourishing and is comparable to L&L/T+S/B&M in my opinion.

Yes, its slick - as I said I had lather enough for a 5 pass, irritation free shave leaving me with a very decent shave that even 12 hours post shave was still baby smooth.

I like my soap to have good scent strength and I'd give this one a 9 or 10 out of 10 on scent strength. Wholly Kaw describes the scent as "Smooth and sublime blend of fresh herbs, green foliage, meadow grass, wild flowers and moss with hints of black tea and citrus. Cedarwood, patchouli and musk form the foundational scent upon which the exquisite citrus and herbal blends sit on top of." I don't get that, for me its a very pleasant masculine barbershop sort of a scent with a hint of rose in it. Its pretty skillfully blended in that I couldn't pick out a single one of the individual elements of the scent profile but they combined very well. Its really very nice and reminiscent of their Chypre Rose Concerto.

No complaints here - you can imagine that a 5 pass shave using a Rockwell on #4 with a Feather blade could cause some irritation if the soap weren't up to the task and Wholly Kaw is up to the task.

This soap is priced in line with comparable premium shaving soaps and the soap is hard like B&M or T+S and not soft like L&L leading me to believe that it will last a good while.

Excellent quality soap, exquisite scent.

Good quality tub with sufficient head room to allow for brush loading. I notice on their website that there is new labelling for all of their products and I don't know if they've also changed their containers.
