General thoughts
Chiseled Face is paving new ground with this release by being the first artisan soap maker, that I'm aware of, to partner up with an actual fragrance house on a release. And I have to give them kudos for that.

This is really a unique release and I hope we get to see more of the Zoologist lineup in soap form soon.

Lather
As with all of the Chiseled Face soaps I've tried. Rhino has performance in spades. The soap is a bit thirsty but once you give it the water it desires you're rewarded with an awesome lather.

Skin Feel
Silky and smooth on the skin, as soon as you apply it you can tell there's some high quality skin food in there.

Slickness
Excellent slickness. This soap base is on par with the best of them.

Scent
Obviously scent is going to be very subjective, especially on a Zoologist scent. But I love this scent. It's deceivingly complex and out of the tub it almost seems like a sweet and spicy smell. But once you lather it up it becomes this lovely mixture of smoky spicy goodness with the sweetness of the rum underlying it all.

Regarding the scent strength, this one is a solid 7 - 7.5/10 in my book. The scent is a pretty powerful one and it stays all throughout the shave as well as lingering a bit after. I feel if it were any stronger it may be teetering on the edge of irritating many people so this is a great level and definitely worthy of the price tag due to the quality of the notes.

Skin Care
Chiseled Face soaps have always knocked it out of the park for me on skin care. And this one is no different. Excellent post shave to the point where you almost don't even need an aftershave or balm.

Value
There's no doubt about it, this is a luxury level product. And it's priced as such. That said, it is a better value for your money than most products in this price point in my opinion. I feel you get what you're paying for, especially with the quality of the scent.

I personally would rather shave with this soap than something like Martin de Candre or Nuavia.

Quality
This is easily some of the best stuff available today quality wise. The packaging, labels and everything else is top notch. It may have a high price tag, but you're getting what you pay for.

Packaging
From the moment you get your hands on the jar you can tell this stuff is some quality soap. The jar is thick black glass with metallic writing on the sides and top that matches perfectly with the actual Zoologist packaging.

The lid is a hard plastic that is reminiscent of many high quality toiletries you might find in high end department stores and boutiques.

I agree with everything here EXCEPT Scent.

My nose detects the scent of acetone/nail polish remover straight from the jar and during the initial face lather. That does dissipate quickly and the rest of the scent comes thru beautifully.

I think my jar needs a bit more curing time so I plan on leaving it open for a few more days and will revisit!

I don't think they are the FIRST collaboration between an artisan soap maker and a perfume house, there are several collaborations between Tallow + Steel/L&L Grooming and the House of Chatillon Lux. Those are the first in my book Smile
Thanks for the review.

I have only been able to get a small sample of this stuff but the scent is right on point. Lather provided enough comfort and slickness to come out as a top performing soap.
