General thoughts
If you love Classic Vanilla like I do, you should give this a try. If you're not crazy about the scent, then I would pass on this one just because there are so many soaps out there that will give you a better post-shave feel.

Lather
It's nice and dense without being too heavy. You can make it lighter by adding more water and whipping it up more. It works well with all types of brushes, although I recommend using a smaller brush with adequate backbone just because the container is so small.

Skin Feel
It's very good while shaving. It doesn't burn or cause irritation.

Slickness
This is where this product shines. It's incredibly slick and gets better with each pass.

Scent
Yet another strong point of this soap. It doesn't smell like Pinaud Clubman. It smells like Pinaud Classic Vanilla, which is one of my all-time favorite scents.

Skin Care
This is the soap's weakness. Post shave, it can be drying. It's nothing a little balm can't correct. But if you have sensitive or dry skin, or live in a dry climate, it's something to be mindful of.

Value
I seem to be going through my 2 oz pretty quickly. This is a soft soap, so it won't last as long other hard soaps. It's not even lasting as long as similarly priced creams. But, overall, it's fine.

Quality
On a bell curve, this soap would be better than average (especially if you love the scent), but not as good as the top 10 or 20% of the soaps on the market.

Packaging
It's a good soap, but the tub it comes in is made of cheap plastic. Not a big deal, especially since it will be used up quickly. Some might prefer the smaller tubs, as they don't take up much counter space. Others will become frustrated because it's difficult to use large brushes with this soap.

I agree with lots of the points but for me Post shave would be a negative star.

The last time I used this I wrote this in my 'shaving journal'
"Even after six hours, my face feels dry. I applied Stirling Unscented balm twice and then some unrefined Shea butter. Have not suffered from such a bad post shave - ever"

So people who suffer from moderate to extreme dry skin may consider using this during warm and humid weather.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad I read it as for some reason I expected this to smell like Pinaud. Knowing that it doesn't saves me from a disappointing purchase.
