General thoughts
Fun soap to use and easy to get the lather right.

Lather
So very easy to load and lather. Takes water well without collapsing. Good cushion and glide.

Skin Feel
I liked it.

Slickness
Plenty of glide and residual slickness is adequate for me.

Scent
They claim its lavender (and I like lavender). This is unlike any lavender I am familiar with. I find it much more herbal and not floral at all. Although I would not consider it lavender, I rather enjoy the scent although it'll not win my blue ribbon. Scent strength is about 5 of 10.

Skin Care
No complaints here. It's not the best but it's not the worst either. Adequate. I enjoyed it.

Value
Although they call it a cream it is hard like a triple milled soap. I assume that is what it is. Been using for awhile and it's not shrinking any too fast.

Quality
I feel this is a quality soap and enjoy using it. Not a top tier for me but a very high second tier.

Packaging
Come in a plastic tub with set-on lid (like a DR Harris wooden one). He packaging feels a bit dated and the lid was cracked when I got it but it's holding the soap for now. I'm guessing if I ever drop it I'll be moving the soap to another container.

You are somewhat lucky that you have the tub. I spoke with the then distributor of Dr. Selby last summer (2015) and was told that the reason why all of these tubes, sometimes tops and sometimes bottoms are cracked is because of defective molds used to make them at their factory in Uruguay. That distributor as well as the new one indicates that they are on "back order". Possibly we will not see them again as it has been at least 9+ months since they were made and distributed. However, the cream in the black tube "Lavender Luxury Shaving Lather" is incredible.

You know what Tidepool? I do feel lucky to have this soap. In fact the more often it gets into rotation, the more the scent grows on me. Performance? My assessment hasn't changed much in that regard but I like this soap a lot. Good luck in your quest.

Actually, I forgot to tell you that I have five 50g tubes of the Lavender Luxury Shaving Cream, four 100g tubes and one 50g tube of Menthol Shaving Lather. All ten tubes cost me $22 from the previous distributor.

I thought about editing my review but decided to just post in comments. After more use I'm really starting to like the herbaceous scent and the lather of this soap. It's getting into the rotation regularly.

I really like this stuff a lot. It's not a soap, but a concentrated hard shaving cream.
It lathers well, and doesn't dry out my face, like most soaps do. (It's not a soap.)
It has a mild but pleasant aroma, and the tub lasts a very long time.
Like everybody else's, the top of my tub is cracked, but not broken.
I think I'll use it tomorrow for my morning shave. Thanks for your review.
