General thoughts
Glad I got this one.
Lather
The glissant base is awesome. First time I loaded with a damp brush for 15 seconds, went to the face and built a lather for three passes. Lather was thick and shiny. Residual slickness excellent.
Skin Feel
Mild menthol that I felt right away but this is not a cold soap but more like the light menthol feel of a mint soap. Feels great.
Slickness
Plenty slick during the stroke. Slick enough for straights easily. Residual slickness certainly sufficient for me and I value slick.
Scent
B&M says fir and leather. When I first uncapped it I got mostly leather but I aired it for an hour and revisiting got mostly fir wit ha touch of leather. This fir scent has no resemblance to an air freshener but smells like a true tree. Upon lathering I was surprised to find the soap smelled very similar to roasting pinion nuts. WOW! I cannot explain how great this scent is for me. There's no detectable menthol scent to my nose.
Skin Care
It's winter thus I am using unrefined Shea but I left it for later just to see. There was a touch of tightness that passed in about 15 minutes. Pretty impressive.
Value
I can shave on the cheap but I sure feel for that pine nut scent I got my money's worth. Doesn't take much soap to lather. I find the value in this one
Quality
Doesn't get better than this
Packaging
Thick walled clear tub. Sturdy black cap. Label is waterproof and very attractive.
