for $25, I think it's worth a try and I might buy one.   does this use standard DE blades or specific DE blades?  I can't quite tell from the photo above.

Worst part of SE is that it isn't a stiff rigid blade which is what most SE shavers prefer and why they switch.

Worst part of DE is that you don't have both sides of the blade to use, so now you are rinsing twice as often for the same blade that you can use in a regular DE razor.

I just don't see the advantages of this razor. The price is amazing but at the moment I'm. It going to order. I don't know if an entire DE blade can fit in the razor head or of you must break them in half first. That would be even more work than de-spining a GEM blade and you all have seen how much raucous that caused. Wink

I hear you. I think for $25 though, I'm going to pick one up. If I don't like it, maybe my wife will..

that said, I wish someone would come out with a modern SE razor that uses standard GEM blades....I'd be all over it!

For $25.00 it is a very interesting concept. I'll be keeping a watch on this and looking out for reviews.

Hector,

How long did it take for Rocnel to get in touch with you after filling out the pre-order form? I filled it out and got online confirmation but haven't heard anything since.

they probably go by who ordered first and so on, there was a rumor that there was more than 4000 orders placed for this razor and that was 2 weeks before they officially closed the preorders.... so who knows how many are in total for the US. I think they first produce a large batch and they start sending out invoices, who pays gets his razor, who don't pays don't get it and lose his waiting spot. I think I ordered 10 days after was posted at the Theshaveden and 3-4 weeks later Rocnel stopped taking preorders.... I still haven't got any receipt, that should tell me that they got lots of orders, honestly I don't expect to get the razor in the next 2 months, but its ok cause this way my wallet will get some break. Considering I have the Seygus all brass on its way and 2 Cadetes from shave a buck TTO's OC and CC with 100 Voshkods and 7 lavender shaving creams. I'm ok with the fact that I have to wait a little bit longer Wink

It was quite sometime.  I was a little bit of confusion and thanks to SharpSpine it was taken care of.

I just got it in the mail today. I'm revamping my SOTD so I can give it a spin. It is very nice and simple.

I'll report.

What can I say, this is probably the best $25.00 razor that I have ever used, period.  Just finish a wonderful shave, with the assistance of Tim's Soap, first time, but that's a different subject.  I can't believe I never tried this soap before.

To the razor.  Blade installation is easy and you will find no blade movement throughout the shave, none.  Nice weight to it and it glides very nicely.  No pressure needed on this puppy.  Not aggressive, but not a weak link either.

The shave:  I only do two passes and this razor didn't disappoint.  Very nice close shave with zero irritation.

The side edge exposure is of no consequence.  No interference with the shave, not even under the nose.  I'm sure it will be an eyesore for the "purists", but, no worries, it won't bite you.Smile Zero blade wave!

This is definitely a unique and fantastic razor, and yes, is my opinion, don't like it?  Don't read it.  I can see why they had over 4K orders.  Nice concept, my congratulations to Murat.

Just a couple of snapshots.
