Nah Chris, it's super secret Black Magic, and those that practice it are more than mere mortals. Those that practice it deserve our attention, respect and admiration!

(this is tongue-in-cheek humor if you didnt know) I seriously have alot of respect for guys who have skills I obviously dont have.

Good advice for the people on the fence who want to take the dive.

I felt sorry for my previous neighbor. His loving wife bought him a shavette for fathers day one year. A few weeks later, since he knew I was into "shaving stuff", asked me for some advice and pointers. I loaned him an old pre-war Gillette tech and a few blades. 2 weeks later he was hooked. He still occasionally tried his shavette out of respect for his wife, and to hone his skills, but sought out DEs for his daily maintenance of appearance. Poor guy. He probly wouldnt have been so easy to convert if it werent for that shavette. Easy pickins. One more down, a few million more to go.

One of the most amazing PIFs I have ever seen. My thoughts of joining this forum are well founded. Although only having a shavette a short time, I am really enjoying my Feather AC.

Lots of great folks here. We have our disagreements, but for the most part people get along here. There are spats of course lol. If there weren't any this place would be pretty fing boring.

But even the most highly respected honer started at the beginning with putting their first blade to the stones, and giving it a try.

Shhhhh! They might hear you.

The closest I ever came to a straight was a Rolls Razor. Basically it's a segment of a straight razor on a stick. The guard isn't there to protect the skin, but to protect the edge.

The closest I ever came to a shavette was a SEvette. Here is a GEM OCMM that was no longer any good, turned into a SEvette. No quality razor was hurt in the making of the SEvette. It was missing the blade stops which aren't required on a SEvette.

I wouldn't trust my trick wrist with a straight. I don't believe it would make the moves required. But the above razors my wrist can operate.

No worries. I am going to go ahead and put the one I offered here up for PIF alongside the other one I'm offering in that thread, so 2 people can get started!
