I call that efficient!

A lot of the mild comments I have seen revolve around the razor's inability to remove whiskers.

I have never found that to be the case but do think it has a very narrow effective angle of incidence and if you don't maintain it, you're out of luck.

Sounds like you got a decent shave though!

Enjoy Andrew.

Love the razor, and like Nick Shaves says, it is all about beard reduction with every passHappy2

I couldn't agree more Kevin. I use the word mild to describe a razor that is gentle on the skin, whereas aggressive means it is aggressive on the skin. I use efficient to describe how well it removed hair. By that definition I consider the Feather AS-D2 a very mild and efficient razor.

andrewjs18 Glad to hear the shave went well for the first attempt Andrew. I believe you will enjoy it much more once you are able to maintain the angel throughout the shave. It takes a little time to get used to but once you have it down it becomes natural. Now I have to focus not to hold my EJ the same way when using it. lol.

I find the angle pretty easy to maintain throughout the shave because it is so different than most other razors. The very shallow angle that you are seeing in the mirror keeps you on your toes!

Just received an AS-D2 today and used it with a Med Prep blade. Absolutely superb shave. Every bit as close (for me) as a Wolfman SB, ATT S1, R1, or M1. As others have said, proper angle is important, but the results can be startlingly great.

with the first two shaves I had with the feather as-d2, the angle was fairly easy to find, imho. if you didn't get the right angle, it simply won't cut anything.

I have used this as one razor in my rotation. I did not like it for a while because it was so mild. However, I started using Feather blades with it and adjusted the angle so more blade was exposed, and then the razor was wonderful.

I found a site that is tracking the prices of the feather as-d2: http://camelcamelcamel.com/Feather-Stain...B00C9M506G

pretty neat!

Camel Camel Camel is cool.

It's only tracking Amazon though. The lowest price ever on that one is a 3rd party seller. I've noticed with CCC that when you include 3rd party price history you get wild peaks and valleys.

The lowest and highest values on their charts can be from a single seller selling a single unit.

Wish there was a similar website tracking information for shaving gear across the whole web. Not just Amazon.

I have a few items set up with notifications on Camel Camel Camel. Very useful website. Their Chrome extension is phenomenal too.
Shave yourself.
