Mine was AoS tallow Unscented. Could use that everyday and not desire anything else.

There are so many soaps that come close and that I love to use, but nothing, so far, has beat Michell's Wool Fat.

Number one, hands down is good ol' zi pepp in the words of the stallion. Cheap, unparalleled slickness (imho), and the scent is pretty good.

Not to hijack, but anyone reading that knows of a soap that smells close to d r Harris Windsor, but performs better, I'm still on the hunt.

Awesome, I have both of these on the way soon!

IIRC Windsor is similar to the Terre d'Hermes scent profile,if thats the case than Razorock Son of Zeus,Stirling Arkadia,L&L Grooming Trismegistus and Fine's L'Orange Noir fall into the same scent profile.

Thanks. They do smell very similar. I have the Son of Zeus, but it is the tallow version. Tallow really overpowers a light scent. At least the tallow they were using in that particular batch did. I will use the Windsor again soon. Perhaps one day I will get the performance from D R Harris that people rave about. So far it just doesn't trip my trigger in that department.

I recommend it.

IMHO, DRH soaps are eons ahead of any RR soap I've used. You're familiar with using hard soaps?

I've used several that I've had better luck with. I bloom it with hot water, load the fire out of it with a mostly dry brush. I even use my smaller best badger instead of my big floppy two band on the hard soaps to load easier. I can get a good lather out of it, but dries quickly and the slickness to me is not on par with some of the other soaps. I've added water until it was dripping, just never had an excellent shave with it. I used it today, was very mindful, kept relathering as it dried, and still didn't get as comfortable a shave as with RR or B&M. I hate it, because the scent to me is just amazing. I think I'm going to give the EDT a try. I use the Windsor aftershave milk as well occasionally, love the scent, not the lanolin.
