The Supply razor is a thing of beauty. My face, though, just doesn't like it. I'm not new to SEs. I've used vintage SEs and Artist Club SEs and straight razors. Using the Supply with the two dot plate I managed to open a trench in my chin. The next shave was better but, even though I'd moved to the mildest plate, my face hurt for hours afterward and I had weepers to beat the band.

I've been using DE razors for more than twenty years and SEs for about ten. But I can't get a great shave with one of the most popular razors out there. Why? Well, it might be technique but I think the blades or the blade and razor combo just don't work for MY face. There's nothing wrong with the razor or the blades.

The point is, the tendency to think a product isn't good because it doesn't work for a given person should be considered carefully. True, some products just AREN'T good, e.g., I've yet to meet anyone who likes Merkur blades. But very often with shaving, one person's BBS is another's Weeper City. Just my two cents.

Blackbird, Hello! Let's shave.

Don't fear the weeper. On the other hand, don't go looking for a face full of them.

I sure had much the same lesson on a pass around of I believe a Masamune Razor.  Everyone loved it but it sure didn’t love me!  I felt for just a moment that I must not know how to shave but nope, decades of shaving with success lead me to conclude the razor was great, just not for me.  (And Merkur blades truly are bad).
