AQU yea I'm not too far from Canada. I went to school and lived in Rochester for about 5 years, so I was really close then!

Thanks for the feedback!

Hey all, we're doing a pre-order on some shirts. My wife did most of the leg-work on them, and I think the design turned out great. We'll let the pre-order run for a week or two then get them ordered. I just wanted to throw the link up here, but we'll be posting it on our social media platforms and email as well. Thanks!

I used the new SS 3.25 handle with the new "flatter" cap with the hybrid (brass) plate. I have had no issue with my interm 3.5 CG handles but this stonewashed Yates handle just matches so much better. The complete razor is heavy at ~ 124 gm (don't forget the hybrid plate is brass) but that lets the razor's weight do more work hence a more efficient shave than the mild gap would suggest. My first pass WTG used the OC whereas the second was ATG using the SB side. It was by no means a harsh or an "aggressive" shave - it yields a very smooth shave as I was able to efficiently remove my whiskers in a very comfortable manner. What more can a daily shaver ask for ? This smooth and efficient razor has its own unique DNA with its stonewashed finish and at a very reasonable price point.

It compares well with a Timeless and other premium priced offerings but is half the price. The less expensive offerings from Karve (not as smooth) or Razorock (not as efficient) just are not as good IMHO. Also with all the savings his Spaceman travel case and stand are great ways to enhance your den - why not a shirt too.

With this new cap and new (shorter) handle the Yates with its mild hybrid plate is even a better tool than its original version - great job Jake.

And Jake like others I am ready for the Titanium, customized Ti and H+ plate if I understood your plans.

I tried the new top cap with the H plate but used my CG Prism handle to make the new top cap the only variant tonight. IMO the new top cap raises the efficiency of the razor without removing any of its smoothness. Love the new handles but I just wanted to see if the raised efficiency was due to weight or the change of the top cap.

Did someone try the new cap and the stouter handle with the H plate?

Our new machine is installed, and I should have it knocking out razors within a week. Once it's set up and firing on all cylinders, it should run very close to 24/7. The goal is to get most, if not all, of our products back in stock prior to the holidays. H plates are going to be one of the first products on the new machine, so those should come back in stock fairly soon. I'm planning on offering both stonewashed and polished finishes this time around. I'm also working on a run of polished razors, in addition to stonewashed.

I'm also thinking of doing a small run of titanium razors. They would be the 921-M model, just a Ti version, and would be separate from the Custom Titanium Program I mentioned before.  The custom program is absolutely still coming, and I'm looking forward to getting that going.

Thanks to everyone who purchased a new handle! I know Shavemd is enjoying his new handle and top cap. What does everyone else think of them?

What new products would you like to see next? I'm thinking either a stainless OC or HYB version of the H plate, and a more aggressive -EH plate. Let me know!

Thanks!
Jake

All of the above

I used the H plate with the new "flatter" cap and stubby 3.25 inch handle and got a very efficient and smooth shave (slightly less smooth than the mid plate). The complete razor weighs 119 gm and I suspect the heavier handle rather than the "flatter" top cap is responsible for the closer shave. However this "flatter" cap reminds me of the super smooth Raw Shaving RS-10 razor so perhaps it's (cap) geometry contributes to the shave. I am not sure why but it works well.
