I've never had a problem with covered blade tabs.

Agree here. This is a matter of personal preference rather than a design necessity.
The logo on a top cap is a nice touch as well (it is more discreet on the current version).
Can't see how it cheapens this fabulous razor.

I agree that the head is big, but that isn‘t a bad thing, just different. Where some razors feel like nothing more than a blade with something holding it, this one feels like a machine with a blade inside.

Interestingly, what was said a few posts back with regards to the Blackbird like results. I couldn‘t agree more and was actually thinking this myself before reading that post.

So it's the head shavers who want the blade tabs covered up.  I guess that's understandable.  As a face shaver who has never even once shaved my head, the danger of blade tabs to the ears slipped by me.  I'd still like to see the head shortened by 2 mm, as IMO the exposed center ridge of the baseplate is ugly, and 2 mm would still leave the blade tabs covered.  I think if I were a head shaver I'd probably use a HeadBlade, not a DE.  My head shaving neighbor really likes his HeadBlade.

Just as you prefer not to see the center ridge exposed, a lot of others prefer not to see the blade tabs exposed.

I prefer he should firstly make polished H plate, before all other changes.

I snagged a brass Hybrid plate from today’s drop.

I’ve been enjoying the H plate but a slightly milder dual comb sounds fun too!

The hybrid is among my favorite shaves. Hope you enjoy it

Thoughts on my Hand Polished H plate Razor are here in my journal at post # 467. Slight changes noted from polishing it. Didn't want to clutter things here with the huge post.
