I’ve got one of these on the way with the M and brass hybrid plate.

From what I’ve read it sounds as though it could be similar to a Timeless 0.95 in use and this prompted my purchase.

It’ll take a few weeks before it will arrive in the U.K., so I won’t be able to try it for myself for some time.

In the meantime, I was wondering whether my assumption is correct and, if not, what razors the M and hybrid plate would equate to in terms of both smoothness and efficiency?

Apparently he sold out all his handles within 15 minutes. That's amazing given the release was just handles and not plates or complete razors. And these aren't shiny overpriced rarely sold razors but just very comfortable razors. Who'd figure ? As previously mentioned I later got a thank you (email) from Jake which also stated he plans to make more plates as soon as he can - again what a class act. Those of you who have the Yates enjoy it and those waiting for one I am sure the wait will be worth it.

Though I’m on the mailing list and I checked my spam folder, I never did receive an email. If possible do you mind sharing the content here? Much appreciated.

Ahh.. bummer that I missed that sale. I have one of the original top caps that has the odd threading that isn't compatible with standard handles. Would have been a nice deal to get a better handle and top cap at once.

Anybody know whether it is ppssiblemto, for example, use one of his baseplates with a different top cap, or one of his top caps with a different baseplate? And l mean totally different, like an iKon of a Gillette tech or something. Just curious, because I see that sometimes he has baseplates for sale but nothing else.
Love, peace, and harmony....maybe in the next world.....

I have gleefully read through this thread. It looks like a great razor!

A couple of questions for you gents:
  • How would the H head compare to the hybrid in terms of efficiency?
  • How does the most efficient YPM head compare to efficiency beasts such as a CG level 3?
  • When is the even more efficient YPM head going to be released?
I ask because I have sensitive skin and a pirate beard. The most efficient head on a Karve can't get me to BBS - few razors can.

The hybrid plate is the same as the mid plate but it is a dual comb plate. The H plate for me is between the Charcoal goods level 2 & 3. Can’t answer the 3rd question.
