Nothing quite like seeing your hard work and innovation stolen from you. I guess that means I’ve made it to the big leagues! Now I can join the likes of Wolfman, PAA, Rex, etc. Not a bad club to be in.

Although, frankly, I think this thread should be deleted and I think DFS should protect its artisans and vendors by banning threads about knock-off products.

No need to ban threads. Most people know the quality and tolerances don't compare to the real thing. Plus, this version is plain ugly.

I agree with this as it wouldn't stop people from learning/hearing about it anyway. That said, If I were Shane, I would no doubt feel the same way.

Respectfully, you guys are wrong. This is an advertisement. No such thing as bad publicity. People will see this thread, go check out how much it costs, and some will buy it. And every time that happens, my work is devalued.

What makes DFS great is the way that makers and users get to interact freely unlike other forums with restrictive vendor policies. Having access to vendors separates DFS from everywhere else. We are an integral part of DFS and I think if DFS values that and values the innovation we bring to the community then it will do what it can to protect us from theft so we’ll still be around to contribute here. If not, then there becomes a point where we’re contributing to DFS with both money and content and helping it grow and be an engaging community while the forum itself is allowing thieves to undermine the very businesses that make DFS the great and engaging place it is. That becomes a place I no longer wish to support and imagine all the other vendors getting ripped off feel similarly.

Personally, I would never buy any Chinese/Yaqi product, particularly those that are based on designs by American small business owners. I also agree with Shane that this post should be deleted. While many of us will see this crap product for what it is and not buy it, undoubtedly many others will be curious and will want to buy it. Since it is nothing more than a design stolen from Shane, his wishes should be heeded and the post deleted

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Leaving this up will only help spread the word.

Censorship is an ugly thing that leads to totalitarianism. If I want to see that in action I'll visit social media or view Mainstream media.

Intellectual property theft is an ugly thing that primarily exists in totalitarian societies.
