Finally got a chance to have my first shave with the Ti WR2 1.55 gap SB so here’s a quick report.
Equipment:
•Wolfman Ti WR2 1.55 SB
•Fresh Gillette Nacet Blade
•Mozingo Custom handle w/ Maggard 26mm SHD Fan
•B&M Bay Rum Soap
•B&M Bay Rum Aftershave
•A&E Post Shave Serum Unscented
The gap looks huge but the razor feels incredibly smooth to me with less blade feel than my SS .94 WR1 OC. The 1.55 took down 5 days growth with no issues but it seems like I need to work on my angle and technique a little bit because to me the .94 WR1 shaves closer with less effort on my part.
Perhaps it’s the weight of the titanium vs stainless. The only other Titanium razor I own is the Paradigm SE so my experience with Ti is limited.
Don’t get me wrong, the shave was still BBS but I just had to work a little harder to get there with three full passes and a touch up versus two passes and done with the .94 WR1.
I’ll report back when I get a few more shaves in and I can hopefully put this thing on cruise control.

Wow I'd think the 1.55 would be noticeably more efficient than the .94 SS. Reason I say that is I also have the WR1 SS .94 in a DC and compared to my WR2 Ti DC 1.25 OC/1.35 SB I find the 1.35 side a bit more efficient than the . 94. I can be BBS in 2 passes with either razor but the shave lasts a little longer with the WR2. I only use Feathers in any Wolfman razors as I find they are a perfect fit and I get best results in any gap I've used. It will be interesting to see if your results change when you have a few shaves in with the 1.55.
BTW Congrats on getting the WR2!

Hey thanks so much, sir!
Yeah, thinking it was definitely poor technique on my part so I’m looking forward to redeeming myself tomorrow.
I’ve got some Feathers around somewhere. I’ll dig one out and give it a go. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’m sure your technique is very good if your getting a BBS in two passes with that .94 so it’s probably more so just getting used to the new razor I’m sure. Oh and if you’ve found Feathers a bit harsh on the first shave with them try hand stropping them. It’s made a world of difference in the smoothness of the blade feel for me.
Great shaves!

I've got a 1.15 OC/1.25 SB DC, and it is great. I won't be experimenting with the larger gaps. Thanks for the review though. BTW, my DC came with the WRH7 long hollow. Surprisingly light, same as the Wolfman Darwin. I used it with a WRH3 long solid which gave it a bit of an edge (no pun intended )(08-19-2019, 02:40 PM)Dragonsbeard Wrote: Wow I'd think the 1.55 would be noticeably more efficient than the .94 SS. Dang. I don't know why I thought yours was SS. Today was the 5th in a row with the same Ti razor, for me. I've used (2)Feather, Astra, and (2) GSB blade. For some reason, with the 135-155, I don't see a lot of benefit from the sharper blade. GSB's are more comfortable, to me, and get me to the same place. If the Nacet is your "go-to" blade, stick with it.
Titanium does have a different feel because it's lighter and if you are comparing brushed Ti to polished SS, the Ti does not glide as well....on my face. I've also been quite impressed with the blade feel of 155. I like it a lot but it is a whole lot like the 94WR1. Upfront and consistent. I agree with you here.
I'm an odd duck because I ride the guard and I use pressure. I'm not the best to advise on technique, I do it all wrong. However, one thing that helped me dial in the WR2 head was to shave in silence a couple of times, paying attention to the sound. I think when you hit YOUR sweet spot, your face feel will be in tune with your ear. Keep us posted.
