Beautiful razor indeed, CONGRATS! The handle looks amazing. What are the specs on the handle?

Fantastic, seems like exceptional balance. Perfect handle for the Wr1 head. I’m surprised you didn’t go for the .80 dc. Nice picture with Chinese New Year 2022 - Year of The Tiger!

Deciding between the .80 and the .54 was indeed a tough call.  BOTH exceptionally smooth, obviously the .80 has the edge on efficiency, however the .54 has the edge on being a speed shaver

Reviewing:
.80 for date night with a $1 scoop of hair clay
.54 when the snooze button is hit 3x and speed shaving with your eyes closed in the shower at 1:45am
Either scenario, the result is the same; a glorious BBS shave!

Keep in mind there is dark bronze, standard bronze and Ti metals availability.  How can one manage with only a couple razors? I’m almost positive a different shave can be had with a dark bronze 1.00 or .90 dc WR2 on a Darwin XL or a #5 XL….. now close your eyes and imagine that in brushed Ti.  Big Grin

It is the “Year of The Tiger” working on several different right now, want to do at least 1 x month.  Also working on a VERY detailed Vader without an iPad. I have that Star Wars vibe recently

Cheers!

I wanted to ask the collective wisdom of the group on a titanium purchase. Which head do you think would benefit most from titanium, WR1 or WR2?? My thought is this is that WR2 is a heavier head so perhaps it being titanium might be good. However, WR1 is typically slightly more blade forward, and therefore aggressive, and that might make it the better choice since titanium blunts aggression somewhat. What do you guys think?  The real answer is of course to get one of each. But if you were to get just one, which would it be?  Similar gaps of course.

That's a great question - I personally prefer the lower profile of the WR1 - that doesn't address gap or blade forwardness, but it looks good Big Grin

Having tried the WR1 SS in 0.94 and the WR2 Ti in 1.55, I prefer the latter in terms of comfort.

The 0.94 would benefit fm the ti treatment but in SS it remains a tool to be treated with reverence
or it could bite.

The 1.55 in ti can be used in more carefree manner, due to its geometry that protects the face better, IMO.

I would suggest going for the WR2 in Ti.

Confronted with that choice, and having a fair amount of experience with both heads in many gaps, I choose a WR2 SB Ti 1.35 and glad I did. It is as efficient, I think, as the 1.55 SS, but not as blade forward.

I choose the WR2 for Ti because it is a slightly heavier head, and I figured, from previous experience with other Ti razors, that the added weight would be beneficial in Ti. I think I made a wise decision, though I haven't had a WR1 Ti to check that out.

I went with the WRH7/3 hybrid Ti long handle, and that also was a good decision for me. A shorter handle, lighter in weight might be as good, but I do like the added weight of the longer handle.

Best of luck with whichever way you choose to go.

For those of you who have anodized a ti razor, do you use them regularly or do they more or less become display pieces? I would love to blue anodize a wr1 but I want to actually use it on a regular basis. Is that a pipe dream?
