I've never used a Wolfman but am on the wait list. I'm curious, is it the broad consensus that the WR2 head is better than the WR1 head? Interested in your perspective here.

Also, I assume that James or Tara checks with you before they start working on the order so you can change the configuration if you like?

Thanks for your insights.

That's a great razor but I would recommend you get the handle hollowed because the WRH1 could be very heavy as I already have that and I wish I would have ordered it hollow

I love my heavy wrh2xl. I don't want it light

I'd say the WR2 is a bit smoother, less blade feel. Both are great. James does notify and confirm before building it if you want any changes.

I prefer the WR1 head to the WR2. The 2 has less blade feel for a given efficiency, but the 1 gives me more feedback. Blade feel in a good way if you will. It's also lighter, more maneuverable, and I just get a lot better sense of where I'm going with it. The WR2 is a great head design and can give huge levels of efficiency while remaining super smooth, but would always choose the WR1 if I had to pick one.

To me, the WR2 is smoother, but I seem to get better shaves from the WR1. I can't say I prefer one to the other, but that's always subject to change.

Thanks Pork. Sounds like you are saying I will ultimately need to get both. Smile

Unfortunately I was send the wrong handle so instead of the 7/3 XL hollow I received the solid. That was a bummer but we're all human and mistakes happen. Now I have to ship it back for a replacement but what rubs me totally wrong is that I have to wait until they get the handle back before they would even consider making the correct one which means I'll probably have to wait god knows how long. Anyway, it is what it is. I would have kept the handle but it's overly bottom heavy and overall weighs too much for me at 94.8 grams. I did have my first shave in last night with a different handle. I measured the blade gap to be shy of 1.10 and it delivered. It upped the efficiency of the 1.05 and kept the comfort so it really sits between a 1.05 and 1.15. Of course I need to give it a few more shaves before i can come to a final conclusion but so far so good.

Hi Max Sprecher
I was wondering if you’ve had the opportunity to use your WR2 1.10 more since getting it, and what your thoughts were of it as a potential daily shaver? Thanks!

PS Any news on your replacement handle?

The handle is still in transit since it was shipped Priority 13 days ago. It hasn't even entered Canada yet. I'm not expecting my handle back before September/October if I'm lucky and if it doesn't get lost in the midst of it. I don't shave every day because I have a slow growing beard but if I had to I would stick with the 1.05 as a daily shaver. The slightly higher gap from the one I have does raise the efficiency and tends to loose a bit of the comfort or milder side I would except for a daily shave. It works excellent for the every 2 day shave routine. With a straight razor I can extend the shave to every 3 days.
