I like all the different options but as previously mentioned,
My Desert Island Wr2 would have the Darwin handle, if only JD would produce an Xl version,
The std Darwin is a little small for my hands but the grip and balance is great,
I cannot put that Bad Boy down! Preferable for me than the Wrh2 80mm hollow for balance but only because I prefer a head heavy balance......the Wr2 married to the 80mm hollow is a very neutral balance for the lighter shave.
The 7Xl hybrid is a Beast, great weight and grip, need more time with that one.....
How bout the gaps, out of those two razors which do you prefer? I just ordered a 1.15sb / 1.35sb.

Great choice!

For me I prefer the Larger gap,
I can shave daily if needed and it also mows down a few days growth,
Simply lifting the handle reduces efficiency for the milder finishing pass or the daily shave,
Between those 2 gaps and using a little Handle angle/technique You have everything covered...

400 pages and still going...

Anyone getting a single gap? I see lots of orders for dual gaps/combs.

I think this applies to any razor....just lay the bar flat against your cheek and as you
begin the downstroke move the handle away from your face till you hear the sound of stubble
being cut. That is the best angle.

Or you could try 34.67º....never fails.

I received my WR2 1.15 SB yesterday and just got my maiden shave with it this morning.  WOW.  I have finally felt that awe sensation I felt with my first shave with the Timeless 95.  Count me as a Wolfman convert.  Big Grin

Looks:  Not much needs to be told here that hasn't already been said.  I got the Basic Polished and it looks even better than the timeless polished.  Amazing looking razor,  you can really tell the craftmanship here.

Shave Experience: Take this lightly, as this is just my first shave with it.  This razor is SUPER SMOOTH, to the point you almost don't know if you are shaving or not, which could make judging the aggressiveness/efficiency a bit harder than with most razors.   Feels as mild as a DE-89 during the shave,  no joke.  I was even trying to cut myself and couldn't.  Its definitely a different shave experience than the Timeless 95 (which is smooth for me) or the blackbird.  The WR2 1.15 has almost no noise during the shave, while the other 2 mentioned are very noisy, giving you some kind of "feedback" that you are cutting hair.  But I quite enjoyed this different style of shave experience and I can see now why people call this as the smoothest razor that ever tried.  I can attest to that.

Aggressiveness/Efficiency:  This will be the hardest criteria to judge based on the incredible smoothness of the razor and the limited noise during the shave.  If I was to judge the efficiency based on the "during the shave" feel, it seems this would be a bit milder than my Timeless 95 SB and much milder than the Blackbird SB (my other top 2 razors). I had to do more touch-ups than usual, but that could also be attributed to a lack of experience with it.  Blade feel is almost non-existent as well.  But only time will tell after I wait a few days to see how fast the hair grows back and I also need 3-4 more shaves with it to get a proper assessment on this.  Nonetheless, I think I can definitely step up to 1.25 or 1.35 on my next WR2 (yes, I need another WR2).

At this point, if I had to make a guess on the first shave, I would say a Timeless 95 SB would be around a 1.25 and a Blackbird SB, around 1.35 (will update my assessment after few shaves)

Side Note: I ADORED the WRH7 handle,  I bonded instantly with it during the shave.  If I sell this razor to get a higher GAP WR2,  I might need to keep the handle and only sell the head (as I also want a WRH3)

In Summary.  I can't see myself ever been without a Wolfman WR2 in my den,  instantly became a Top 3 razor for me.  Whether is this 1.15 or a 1.25 (or higher) is still up for debate, but a WR2 is 100% staying on my den forever.   I'm super impressed with it.

Well gentlemen, I managed to do something that most of you would consider impossible. I cut myself pretty bad with my WR2 1.25 SB on my mustache, WTG. I changed too many things for the shave and I wasn’t thinking straight. I actually think the blade was damaged too since I found things on top of it. I used a different handle, different brush, different soap, and my lather was subpar and the blade wasn’t tightened all the way(I found out after). I proceeded with my shave and stopped after I cut my self twice. Everything that could go wrong went wrong and I got a nice 5mm horizontal cut right on my mustache area that bleed quite a bit. Oh well. Live and learn. I was really worried that I might have contracted COVID-19 and put my family at risk and I wasn’t thinking straight.

I'm sorry and I hope you're ok - with both shaving and COVID! If you should decide you'd prefer a 1.05SB plate & cap (basic polish) I'm happy to discuss a trade Smile

Second use of my new 1.45SB today coming up soon. I really enjoyed the first go around on Thursday. It had a nice increased presence to my 1.25SB and while not by a tremendous amount it did take a couple of extra hours to notice the perceivable growth. Today should be a good day to evaluate performance as the blade will be on a second use and I have no plans to leave the house again requiring extended wearing of a face mask. On the razors’ maiden voyage on Thursday I was on a first use blade from a slightly underwhelming (and very atypical) tuck Of Wizamets ...followed by wearing a mask all day at work and then other errands in the mask as well. It was hard to gauge the face feel later in the day other than stubble growth. Today will be a better day to see how things go.

I've often said youd have to try real hard to cut yourself with one. From your story it sounds like you went pretty far out of the way to do it! Ha! Here is to a speedy recovery!...and no C19.

Happy Father's Day to all.

I’m fine, the cut healed fine but I have been using my Trac 2 until it heals a little better. Coincidentally that is what my next Wolfman will be and I’ll sell everything else. ?

Thanks. Lol. I have been shaving with it non stop since I got it and never had an issue. It was just a weird thing.

Have a COVID test tomorrow morning. Well see how that turns out in a day or two. I have been feeling like crap the past couple of days have been pretty much quarantined since.
