More than anything, it's close to the Game Changer SB 0.84. The SB 1.25 is smooth as butter though it does leave a hint after applying aftershave splash. I'll need to try some Eufros soap to see if that makes any difference.

Next order will be either the WR2 SB 1.15 or a WR1 DC OC 0.61 / SB 0.67.

For the WR1, do I have the right blade gaps for an everyday shaver with moderate aggression and efficiency?"

How did you like the WR2 1.25? Do you prefer the 1.05 to it?

As far as WR1 - I think most folks are ordering the WR2 model. In any event SB 0.67 would be a good daily shaver. I had the 0.61 SB and it was too mild. Also had the 0.74 OC and it didn't do anything special for me. The WR2 heads give a much smoother shave for me.

I have a question on hybrid handles...esp the one with H7 knurling on top and H3 ridges below.

The H3 XL is 96mm and H7 XL is 98mm...so what length is the hybrid?

Also, does anyone who has one know what it weighs?

Does the Darwin handle only come in one length?

But I went WR2 1.55 SS, as Ti was not an option. So it had been months since I shaved with a 1.55, and having my heart set on a Ti, I decided to go with the no extra cost polish on head, handle and stand. What James refers to as "Polished Basic/Matte.

I figured I already have 4 mirror polished in different gaps, and a 'Brushed Polished' (extra $) so the basic would be easily picked out of the herd.

Boy was I mistaken. Blew my mind when I opened the wrappers. You ... or rather 'I' cannot tell this 'polished basic/matte' from the mirror polished I paid significantly more for ! Below is a photo of the basic on the left, a 'brushed/polished in the middle, and a mirror polished on the right.

The shave was awesome. 48 hours growth, knocked it down like a tsunami ! I used a new Feather. One WTG, one ATG. I'm going to give daily shaves a try with this animal. If anyone is on the fence, or worried that the 1.55 is too much of a good thing, for me it was great, and no irritation, no weepers, no nicks. Just a great BBS shave.

Very nice looking finish. You know that razor ran off and left it sibling behind to find its way to the US. Mine has made it MN but the poor little thing is cold and lonely trying to find its way to his new home in MO.
   Thanks for the post

Well if the center is mirror I've got a 50/50 shot to be right ... left titanium ... right brushed polished

First shave this morning with a fresh Wizamet and I'm stunned; it's super smooth and I like the ability to increase blade feel by riding the cap. The Darwin handle felt a little awkward at first and my initial impression prior to shaving was I should have ordered either the WRH2 or WRH7; these thoughts vanished during the shave with the Darwin handle being intuitive and well matched for WR2 head.

The WR2 on the left is the DC OC 1.05 / SB 1.25. The OC side is incredibly smooth and while I do enjoy it, I prefer the safety bar. In terms of aggression, I like the 1.05. I would go .74 on a WR1 for smoothness and enough 'aggression', but not overkill. If you like a bit more than that a DC .74 OC, and .86 SB. I too find the Darwin to be a very easy handle to navigate through the shave, and a thing of beauty. It only comes in the one length, but it is enough.

I've got a couple and measured as follows.

Ti7XL Hybrid 96.2mm and 96.5mm (I've got 2)
Ti3XL 97mm
Ti7XL 98mm
SS7XL 98mm and weighs 93g

I think the hybrids are all based on the 7 or the 7XL. Mine were all 7XL platform requests.

Hope this helps.

I prefer the WR2 SB 1.05 to the SB 1.25. While the 1.25 is more efficient, I have to remember to use a lighter touch or be subject to a little razor burn. Nothing major but still an inconvenience. The only other razor where I have a need to consciously use a lighter touch is the Merkur Futur.

What I like about the SB 1.05 is it's an easy daily driver with upside. You're rewarded with a better shave if you use a little technique; and there's very little downside if you shave on auto-pilot. With the larger gaps, you don't get a hall pass.
