One guy that hasn’t used it compared it to Ti2 based on my description. It’s very similar to charcoal level 2 on the face but with a more rigid blade. It’s a slightly smoother bbs-1 according to a guy that’s not on the forums.

Another batch was released a couple days ago. Should be more out there every week

Can anyone who bought the new head send an email to James regarding any potential differences between the BBS-1 and the WR2? Hopefully, he'll respond to an owner.

With all due respect, only HE knows, not some guy who's not on the forums and thinks it's slightly smoother. Most probably it's just his idea.

Heads look identical.

Lol.

1 - I’m not going to touch this one.

2 - you really think James has any interest in detailing the differences?

Yeah, why not? Is this some secret? He said a while ago that he was going to offer a similar design to the BBS-1, but they look identical, if not exactly the same. You think he has a spot for you on his blacklist if you ask him that question? lol

If someone asked me for details about a proprietary project, I would tell them to pound sand.

Also I don’t really care what the different is. I don’t have a bbs-1. I would never pay the going secondary market rate for a bbs-1.

I was told, by the guy who’s experience you want to dismiss, that the cap is a tiny bit wider.

It's not a multi-million project, it's a razor. Just a razor. It's a yes or no answer. All the other makers, that are glad to answer to any question and give lots of info, are losers?

Someone could have a BBS-1, but doesn't want to buy the WR2 if they're the same. It's no big deal to give that info if you're the maker. If you think you're some kind of god and do whatever you want, just make razors and mortals will buy them no questions asked, then you can keep doing what you do.

You didn't say previously that the cap is a tiny bit wider. Still this means nothing to most. What are the measurements? Is he just trying to find differences?

Anyway. At the moment I own a BBS-1 and at some point I could have owned two. I own Wolfman razors, I'm no hater or jealous, but this whole "don't push him by asking too much and act like he's the chosen one" makes me sick. Things are way too complicated for my taste.

Bye.

Not a matter of pushing him at all. Sounds like you’re all set then with your bbs-1. Enjoy it!

It seems like you’re pretty worked up about it. Its all YMMV anyway. He thinks it’s smoother - I’m not going to tell someone what they think is wrong. Would you?

I’m not going to ask him to break out the calipers for you. Sorry.

And like I said previously. As of now there are like 6 of these out there. More are coming out every week. A bunch went to guys with BBS-1’s this last release.

Patience as they say, is a virtue.

As with all artisans in particular, I try to be respectful of their time. I'm not saying the question is not valid, just no way I'd ask. I have asked questions in the past, about pending orders, and they've always been answered but I still feel bad. Especially since he is one guy. I think we all prefer he spend his time doing what he does best, making mirrors.

Like kehole said, there are guys with BBS1s that are waiting on a WR2. They can answer dimensional questions soon. With the comparison of the WR2 to a 17-4's efficiency, it sound much more efficient than a BBS1
