I did something similar with my SS WR2, except down a notch (1.15OC/1.05SB). I wanted there to be a distinct difference in feel between the two sides. With this one, I'm thinking the OC side will be for the WTG pass and the SB side will be for everything else. But we'll see how it works out.

Looking forward to your review on this one. Really want to know if the titanium is more aggressive like the titanium WR1 is supposed to be.

I think Chris Murray got his a couple days ago but you’re one of the first no doubt.

I should have taken a day off yesterday, but this razor came earlier than expected and I couldn't wait. The shave pictured above is from this morning, my second shave with it. I like it, though in some ways I wasn't expecting.

This was my first go around with a WRH7 and it's just the handle I was looking for. The WHR2 is a little too thick for me and the Darwin, while super ergonomic, is a little thin. This one splits the difference and I couldn't be happier with it.

This is my first Ti razor. I do not miss the weight of my SS razors. Not one bit. Coupled with the handle, I find this razor very easy to control.

The blade gap is one step up from my SS WR2 (SS: 1.15OC/1.05SB; Ti: 1.25OC/1.15SB). Here's the weird part. On my face, this razor feels noticeably more aggressive than the SS model. Now, maybe it has to do with the blade gap difference, but I didn't think it would be as noticeable. It almost feels a little "scratchy" on my face while shaving. Maybe there's more drag with brushed Ti? I don't know.

At first, I was a little freaked out. But a little while after the shaves, both yesterday and today, I noticed that my faced looked way better than normal (relatively speaking!). I don't hack myself up usually, but these shaves left totally clean results, no irritation at all. And I even pushed it today with two OC passes and one SB pass, which I don't usually do. So, it's not as buttery smooth as my SS WR2 while shaving, but my face is more buttery smooth after shaving. Maybe steel reacts with my skin a little bit? I don't really know. So far, the tradeoff is worth it to me.

The early verdict is that going from a SS WR2 to a Ti WR2 is not as much of an epiphany as going from a WR1 to a WR2 was, but that's probably to be expected. However, I need to use it more before I'm ready to make a solid judgement on it. I'm going to give it one more shave tomorrow, then take a day off. Next week, I'm going to try to use it as many days in a row as I can handle, like I did with the last one. I might even use the 1.15 gap on both razors and do a side-by-side comparison.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. Some folks seem to think the ti wr1 is more aggressive at the same gaps in SS for some reason. With the paradigm razors I felt like the ti razors had better face feel for me than the stainless so it’s neat to hear a different opinion.

I love the 7 as well. I went for the jumbo on my last order and hope it’s as good as the normal one. My hands are freaking huge, and the girth of the 1 and 2 handles are actually my favorite characteristics of them lol. YMMV at its finest...

Keep your thoughts coming and a side by side of the 1.15 sides would be interesting!

Wolfman WR2 Brushed Ti 1.15SB vs. Wolfman WR2 Polished SS 1.15OC

Brush: Declaration Jefferson B7 Dark Emerald
Soap: Grooming Dept Before the Fire
Blade: Polisilver SI (in both)
Post Shave: Strike Gold Ike & Wholly Kaw Bare Naked Balm

I wasn't on planning on the dueling Wolfmans before spending more time with the Ti, but my curiosity got the best of me. The only wrinkle in this plan is that the 1.15 side of the Ti is SB and the 1.15 side of the SS is OC. In the end, it didn't matter, as you'll see. Without going into a bunch of details here are the results:

*The SS 1.15 felt notcieably smoother during the shave.

*The Ti 1.15 was more efficient. I have distinctly less stubble feel on the Ti SB side.

*Post shave, my face feels better on the Ti side, even though the shave itself didn't feel as smooth as it did while using the SS WR2.

(Note: I don't get very much irritation with the SS razor, but I have gotten zero irritation with the Ti in the past three days, even though it's a more aggressive razor)

Conclusions

This test confirmed my conclusions over the past two days using the WR2 Ti. I would say that the Ti version of this DC razor (1.25OC/1.15SB) is roughly the equivalent of SS 1.35OC/1.25SB, but with less post shave irritation than I would expect with the SS razor. Both gaps being equal, the Ti WR2 is more efficient than its SS counterpart with better post shave results. During the shave itself, the SS is more comfortable (though I prefer the weight of the Ti even more than my SS with the WRH2 hollow handle).

Questions

*Would a polished Ti WR2 in the same gap be the best of both worlds?

*Is it the type of metal or the head's finish that made the SS more comfortable during the shave?

*Might using a wetter lather (as I do when using a Feather AC razor) smooth out the Ti during the shave?

I think I prefer the look of the brushed razor but, if a polished Ti would be a more comfortable shave, I would swap it for the brushed one.

With my SS WR2, I've found a Polsilver to be a terrific blade. In this Ti WR2, I'm having a hard time getting over the face feel while shaving. I decided to go the opposite direction today and try an Astra SP. The razor definitely lost its overly-aggressive face feel. The shave itself wasn't as close as with the Polsilver, but the shave was more comfortable. I think I need to go through blades one by one to find this razor's ideal companion. Any suggestions that fill the gap between the Polsilver and the Astra? I am going to try a Voskhod tomorrow. Good shaves...just looking for the silver bullet...

I actually had good luck with the persona red and gsb. The gsb was smooth as could be. But of course they aren't super efficient. I tried a voshkod and it was a very comfortable shave but not close enough for my liking. So far my favorite is the personna 74 which sort of sucks because it isn't practical for long term since I have a whole 2 blades. I, like you am still trying to find the right one. I've heard feather a lot but it was super rough for me.

I have had good luck with Feathers in my SS WR2, but only on the first shave with them. I am going to try hand stropping them and see how they work in the Ti. They are too expensive to use only one time each. Thanks for your recommendations.
