On a more serious note....not to trivialise technique or anything....but I think
everyone feels their stubble growth and direction and intuitively adapts to the
landscape.

Reminds me of a great line from White Rabbit, a film on Rudolf Nureyev where
he says, "Technique is what you fall back on when you run out of inspiration".

Of course, shaving isn't the same as ballet but I get what he means.

Haha guess you all caught me. I do often talk about buffering issues with various videos, stream, networking ect between friends with googles new auto suggest feature I guess that made it's way into my message numerous times. I do not proof read my post on these forums as often it is more for fun so small slip-ups like this or typing .05 vs .50 tends to happen often. I often get a chuckle when others point out these mistakes because it reminds me to proof read only for me to immediately think it is too much effort for a more laid back environment. The ultimate catch 22 of being OCD but also lazy / relaxed

Indeed! However, I feel that is a lot of tradition within the art of wet-shaving as well, and sometimes these traditions are actually at a detriment to advancement. Often I wonder how many people travel off the beaten path to try new technique once they know the tradition patterns. Suffice it to say I very really see or hear of anyone experimenting and while you might get a good shave; it could be better. Or it could be worse; knowledge it power in my books. I think there is a good middle ground someone we just need people on both end of the spectrum so others can find this middle ground themselves. But I believe LOOT might be right need to start my own thread instead of posting here; leave the thread to the Wolves

The 'Middle way' is also that of the Buddha's teachings, perhaps Buddha mapped his shaves using the thousand petalled Lotus flower technique....

I wonder if Buddha would have liked a Wolfman?..(in basic finish of course)...

Read Buddha's 'Fire Sermon', and relate that to our acquisition disorders. The Max Muller translation in 'Teachings of the Compassionate Buddha' is the one I like best. 

If you have never read Siddhartha by Herman Hesse get a copy, you'll love it. There are various translations, the one I've read over and over is by Hilda Rosner.
