That's seems excessive not to mention expensive... I just want to borrow one BBS-1! I don't chase efficiency and am happy with .61 and .67 WR1 gaps (but have tried .80 and .94 and .48 for good measure). My WR3 when it arrives will be a mild gap but open comb - 0.35

Don't see many BBS-1 for sale at the moment anyway

ExtraProtein  I am 'locking in' the Feather for my Wolfman razors. Polisilver or Wizmat for others.

I got into the 'sport', hobby, or whatever this is, of wet shaving 16 years ago through a friend telling me about his doing two and three passes. I looked at him like he was from the moon.

So he introduced me to Internet shaving forums and down the slippery slope I went. I have a lot of various blades that are held in high esteem by forum members. I agree with some, and not with others. Blades, razors, gaps, soaps, creams, brushes ... it's all so subjective.

Anyhow, a two pass shave, 3 uses of a Feather, Polisilver, or Wizmat blade, and that's where I've ended up after all these years.

Began shaving in around 1962 or 3 with Gillette TTOs, Schick injectors, and finally for a decade or two the dual blade Gillette 'Good News.' One ATG and called it good.

Incidentally, I received my proceed or cancel email from Tara. So I'm going with another bronze basic polish WR-1 in OC with a 0.80 gap, and a 90mm WRH-1 handle.

This morning I shaved 3 days growth with my bronze 0.80 SB (which I've come to love) and a 2nd use Feather. Wonderful shave.

I'm wondering if anyone can comment on what WR1 blade gap the Razorock Aluminum Lupo is closest to? I've read that it is .61, but does the the .61 Wr1 actually shave similar to the Aluminum Lupo? Also, since the Lupo gives a great shave, I was going to try the .74 as the .67 probably wouldn't be significantly different to the Lupo. Anybody have experience with this?

I've asked to confirm the same question multiple times but no one has ever responded. From what I remember, the alumunim Lupo is a 0.61 WR1 but again, no comparisons from those who have used it as well as many of the different wolfman gaps.

In my experience, the head may look similar to a WR1. The exposure is very much different however. The .95oc Lupo I am using now is much less blade feely than the .67SB WR1 I sold recently.

To somewhat answer my own question, I received my WR1 .74 Sb and have shaved with it several times. I would say there is a lot more blade feel than the Aluminum Lupo which is supposed to be .61 gap. The .74 is more efficient but still smooth. If I order again, I will get the .67 Sb as I think this would give a little bit more efficiency  than the aluminum lupo but not have as much blade feel as the .74

I've been chasing the optimum Wolfman gap for years, and went through quite a few used, and a very few new ones, to find it.

In a separate thread asking the question a member of DFS (I don't recall who) lives near James and asked how he determined his gaps.

James told him that he experimented with Gillettes like the Super Speed, Adjustables, and maybe the older 3 piece models ....

All this time I could have gone by this chart that Above the Tie has on their website to compare with GIllettes I already have !

A Red Tip Super Speed is .66 .... and I like it ... anyway, .74 and .80 are great for me. YMMV

I agree with Jimmy, the .74 - .80 is the sweet spot for many in the WR1... I own both of those gaps as well as a .94 for the times when I want to dial-up the efficiency a bit. All three are very smooth!

Has James always used the same grade of titanium? Does it darken over time?

My WRH7 handle is much darker than the titanium WR1 I just received.
