Guys hi,

There's a question:
I bought Wolfman DC Titanium (head + handle WRH7 + stand) $600 CAD = $460 USD.
Paid taxes + VAT =$135. Total $595 USD.
If I want to sell, I will be additional costs for shipping, about $40, and 4% commission PayPal (we can't receive payment F&F).
Total of about $660 USD without a penny EARNINGS AT ALL!

To lose money on the Wolfman in pristine condition (handle and stand new/unused) is not quite right.
In your opinion, at what price to sell the Wolfman?

Sincerely.

Taxes AND VAT? Where did you have this shipped to?
I bought a stand direct from Wolfman and it cost me CAD$40 (shipping was $10 extra). I didn't pay any taxes or VAT.
Think of it this way...The ideal price is one that both seller AND buyer are happy with.
I know that I wouldn't want to pay $660 for a set, even if it was titanium.
Some things you just don't break even on (or make a profit). Good luck.

IMO,if you live in Europe Ias I suspect, with the taxes and vat added on,you would have to sell it in Europe or wherever you live. A person that
lives where they don't have to pay vat will not buy it with the vat included since they would not have to pay it when bought. I say keep it and enjoy it.

P.S.--I just noticed the CAD dollars----doesn't sound right to me.

Sell it for what you and the buyer are both agreeable to. It's not the end of the world if others disagree.

If you want to make money, ask for it. If you want to break even, ask for the price that makes you whole. If you want to be generous, ask for a price that you are comfortable with.

It's up to the other party to pay your asking price or not. Shouldn't be any hard feelings on either side or from the peanut gallery in a perfect world. I do understand that we do not live in a perfect world though.

Two consenting adults should be able to conduct a transaction as they see fit. The fact that you have so much cost into the items may narrow your market of perspective buyers.

If you have to maximise your return, I think eBay would likely get you the highest price. It will add another layer of fees and disgusted comments from some. It is what it is and you don't owe us an explanation I feel.

The motives really don't matter. You own it and wish to sell it. So long as you didn't get it solely to resell it for a gain, I think it's fair play to ask for any price you're comfortable accepting without fear of being scorned.

I would recommend that you consider the tax implications of making gifts or donations. The rules vary from place to place. You may be able to get a sizable write off by mailing the set to me. It would be worth it alone knowing that you brought a smile to my face.

Dimitri, that is a very challenging question, but I would have to agree with Todd's opinions, above.
As along as you and the seller are satisfied with the transaction is what is most important.

Good luck.

Put it on Ebay for the price that you want and see what happens.

sell it for what you think it's worth. if someone agrees with your assessment, they'll buy it!

you don't have to worry about those ridiculous MSRP prices other forums have when listing stuff in the BST on this site.

good luck!

List it here on the BST with the reasoning you gave. Those in Europe will understand VAT and be much more likely to cover your expense. Given the waiting time necessary to get a titanium Wolfman razor head, handle and stand you should be able to recoup your costs.

Great responses above. You own it. Sell it for whatever you want.

The whole "your not a gentleman or a member in good standing" if you don't follow certain rules in the wet shaving community seen elsewhere is ridiculous. There actually are no rules.

Some forums are very possessive toward certain artisans like Wolfman or CRSW. These are private businesses that sell a product you now own.

I can't believe it's even brought up.

I would post it on the BST here at DSF with the reasons stated above and at the price you need. If it doesn't sell in a reasonable amount of time(reasonable to you), pull it and post it on eBay for a BIN price for what you need to recoup your investment. I don't think you owe anyone an explanation if you need to sell it on eBay. I saw a Wolfman sell in auction on eBay for just about what you have in yours now, so it will mean enough to somebody that they will be willing and even happy to buy the razor for this price.
