Living on the edge
Same here...performance on Wizzies starts dipping on 5th or 6th shave.
Which is pretty cool...because normally I notice a dip after
shave #3 with other blades.

Apparently it wasn't a go for JimmyH as he went MIA ? I had shave 7 on mine today smooth as can be but sharpness dropped off. Not unusual for my beard though.
Actually it was a go... 5th shave with the first blade, just didn't get to report on it. The shave was decent. An Ikon Tech OC and QED Sandalwood soap. It is the final shave. The blade exceeded my expectations on shave 2 through 4. I'll try another and report back later today.

As it worked out I decided not to go for shave # 6 with the Wizamet. I received a G SB, and a F OC plate, and a top cap from Karve this afternoon. Hadn't shaved since Saturday evening, so it was a perfect time to test out two more Wizamets.

I loaded a new Wizamet in each of my two Karves. The G SB, and the F OC. Shaved WTG and ATG (my usual 2 passes) the SB one side, the OC the other. The blades and the razors delivered a great shave. So I'm now a believer in both of these fine products.

2nd use of a Wizamet today. WR2 DC 1.15 OC - 1.25 SB. Two passes WTG, ATG, and BBS. Again, the blade seemed even better the 2nd use. I've seen the same phenomenon with Feather blades. No burn, irritation, nicks or weepers. Just a DFS.

Same here. I get the best shaves from 2 to 4. The 5th is still very good but by the sixth shave the sharpness totally degrades but it does stay smooth. I could probably still get a few shaves but life's too short so I replace the Wiz after 5 shaves. I don't have a coarse beard at all.

+1

I Stop at 3 shaves though... Being lucky enough to have gotten 3000 of them... I can afford to pamper myself!

I find them highly sensitive to Razors though... In a timeless it's a match made in Heaven, and the Reason I jumped on them so aggressively...

Not that great in a P.84 Gamechanger. But very nice in a 1960 Fatboy! Happy2

Thanks, Tony

I've logged 33 Wizamet shaves so far.  Twice I went to 6 shaves, felt like the blade could do more, but also that the blade was declining.  My current average is just over 4.4 shaves, but that will go down a bit after reading the last several posts.  I may not have a lifetime stash, but at little more than a nickel a shave, I too can afford to pamper myself.  I'm not yet sure what to say about optimum razor matchups, because we've had a lot going on lately, and I haven't been in the mood to A/B blades.  OTOH I've used the Wizamets over 3/4 of the time since I've got them, and either exclusively or almost exclusively in my three favorite DE razors.  The results have been excellent, so I would say that the Wizamets are razor friendly for me, and if not the best, then at least very good.

Same here, not razor dependent for me that I've seen as of yet. Used in Vintage Nacet razor, Game Changer .84, Gillette Fatboy, Gillette Redtip, Rockwell 6s..............that's all I can think off of the top of my head. Got 10 shaves on last one in a Rockwell 6s but it was pushed. 7-8 is normal for me.

I, also, do not find the Wizamets razor-dependent. They work, just fine, in any razor that I use them in, fortunately. Smile

Just Here for the Shaves

I hope it is okay to add this here. My long winded journey with blades and my thoughts on the Wizamet blades summarized to be clearer of my view and why.   YMMV  Big Grin

So there has been a lot of controversy about the sale of Wizamet blades lately on some forums. Are they legit Wizamets or are they rebranded Pol Silvers etc. I recently made a purchase of a 250 block of them from Wizashave shipping from Morocco. Due to a slight lag in the tracking movement I had emailed the company at that time to inquire of it's movement and stall. They quickly assured me that they were still en-route but the tracking on a single block would not show movement in the States. True to there claim they showed up a few days later. Due to the controversies going on and some business developments the company reached out to me and asked if I would do an HONEST review of the blades and my thoughts on them. I did a video and it's in the video log section but will do a quick (yeah right) overall thoughts on them here:

In my 11 or so years of being back into "Wet Shaving"...................."Traditional Shaving"......................Whatever you want to call it, I have tried MANY different blades and settled on Personna Reds for a while until I found Gillette Silver Blues and preferred them. Then I tried the Pol Silver SI Blades and was sold and a user for some years now. They got popular and for years people have been saying they are going out of production and so prices have been inflated beyond their worth to me. I was starting to run low on them (@50 left) and was going to wait for the price to drop or go back to the Silver Blues. @Bill in Oneida got some Wizamets (a couple tucks) and gave me some to try. WOW, was I blown away by the difference. Just as sharp and noticeably smoother to me. Now I wanted to look for a stock of them but they are out of production as far as I know. I found some for sale on the bay for $45 for 250 and Bill and I were going to split a 250 block. When I ordered there were some things that raised a red flag from the seller saying he didn't get payment when I had proof of payment thru paypal. I cancelled the order and Bill said he found some from out of the country for @ the same price, so I said go ahead and order 250 for us. They came from Morocco so took a little while to come but arrived without incident. Some weeks went by and I thought, I love these blades and want another 250 for a cushion in my stash. I checked the bay as the new seller I tried to buy from previously said he straightened things out with Paypal but I noticed that I suppose due to interest he basically doubled his price.........NO THANKS, I don't do business with companies the price gouge (even though they have again lowered their prices now). I then came across a discussion on DFS about purchasing from Wizashave.com and put an order n to them for 250 assuming they were from Russia. After reaching out to the company during the shipping process I learned they were coming from Morocco which put e at ease since that must be who Bill got our original block from. Sure enough they arrived safe and sound. That brings me to the blades. EVERYONE is different and will have different experiences with blades but these are JUST as good as the Wizamets I had started with from Bill and NOTICEABLY different from the Polsilver SI's I was using. They are SHARP and extremely SMOOTH with great longevity. Are they re-branded Polsilvers? Don't feel like it to me and they were my got to blades for quite awhile. Even if they are they are nearly HALF the price of Polsilvers as of the price I just checked this morning. Just wanted to give my experience with these blades and the source ( Wizashave.com ) I am using for them for others to make an INFORMED decision for themselves. Happy Shaves Gents
