I’m not sure that I’ve had her sample that one, yet. I’ll have to get a verdict soon. Smile

By the way, thought I’d share my impressions on a couple of other scents that were just brought up. Merchant of Tobacco to me is first and foremost a chocolate scent, with tobacco in a slightly less prominent role. And Project Leather is somewhat bright, perhaps even a bit fruity, with leather adding support in the background.

Those are just my interpretations. I absolutely adore both scents, but it’s good to know that they may not be exactly what the name brings to mind.

The one thing I’ve learned with WhollyKaw is to just trust that the scent will be good, no matter what. They may sometimes be different than I expected, but never have I been disappointed.

Matsilainen , thanks! Helpful to know that I'm unlikely to end up with a goose egg!

So this funny... I broke down and ordered the Wholly Kaw Man from Mayfair soap and AS and also the Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux La Quatrieme Ville soap and AS.

Guess Jamestown will wait until the donkey Milk version comes out!

I guess I had the itch! Looking forward to trying out these great artisans!

Passion4scotch, sounds like you have some great products on their way, and like said, you can get Jamestown Gentleman when the donkey milk version appears once again.

It’d be nice to eventually hear your impressions on Man from Mayfair, I haven’t tried that one.

I see Wholly Kaw now has an unscented tallow/donkey milk soap out that's $4.00 cheaper. To be frank & objective about a soap's actual performance it would be better to test one unscented. Of course, I realize that may be anathema to many here. Dodgy

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I will definitely post my thoughts here on DFS. The last barbershop scents I’ve had and run through were Barrister and Mann Seville and Razorock XXX so I will likely compare to my recollection of those.

Honestly, that probably is the way to enjoy these artisans at a reduced cost... by a puck of unscented soap and a few different AS’s and top up the soap supply as it runs low!

Top of the Chain has unscented Phoenix & Beau on sale for CDN$14.99, thats US$12.17 for a pretty awesome soap.

King of Oud & Chypre Rose Concerto are my two favorites as well. The latter being the finest rose scent I’ve used.

Is the Chypre Rose Concerto "grandma-y" at all? I didn't think of Rose as a man's scent until I got my Barrister and Mann Eventide this year (Raspberry-lime-rose-oud) and I really enjoy it and the Rose note is rich and not grandma-y at all.

I know, I know, I'm make up words.
