This guy! Tongue

I blame Monchoon, who just posted that the Titanium Babysmooth was in stock, which I figured would mean the MJ-90 might be in stock as well. So I pulled the trigger.

A little context. I rarely make impulse buys of shave gear, especially razors. It's been over a year since I have bought a razor, and I've narrowed my rotation to 4 after a period of experimentation:

1 Wolfman DC Polished, Standard Gap
2 Muhle R89
3 RR Babysmooth
4 Ikon 102

I have kept these because they all are great shavers, and they all have different head designs/personalities.

I have been thinking the only new DE for me to try would be the Timeless or Progress/Mergress, because its a different head design and gets rave reviews.

I didn't really want to duplicate one of my existing razors, but the head on my Muhle is starting to wear a little in places, and the new titanium handle on the MJ-90 will also fit my aluminum babysmooth. I've always wanted to see how the babysmooth would perform as a heavier razor, but most handles will not fit the head due to its extreme curvature. The new razor will double duty and even if I don't like the modified EJ head, then 40 bucks for a titanium handle is not a bad deal.

Ok, justification over! Will let everyone know how it shaves!

I look forward to hearing how it shaves. Part of me wanted to get the Ti Babysmooth, but 100 bills is a lot for a duplicate razor, even if its Ti. I want to hear how the head feels against the skin; the only gripe I have on the BS is the black anodizing on the aluminum feels "grippy" and doesn't slide across the skin like a chromed head or stainless. I have thought about getting the head coated to solve this issue but maybe Joe will start selling the Ti head solo...

I bought a Ti BS. They sold out really fast.

I got it. Looking forward to using it, but that's with pretty much every razor I see!

I really enjoy using the RR Baby Smooth, but didn't get the Ti upgrade.

Something that might bridge the gap in order to use different handles with the Baby Smooth is using a dental band or O-ring between the razor head and the handle. (Example: https://www.amazon.com/008-Buna-N-Ring-D...B000FMWLR8) I sometimes use these to prevent the top of a handle from digging into the razor head. But if the threads on the head are too short, it may not work.

And yes, I also ordered the MJ-90, and can’t wait to try it out. Happy2

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

I ordered one yesterday, after promising myself not to buy another razor. My bad.
