I think this exactly what happened to me.

coconut oil is notorious for causing skin dryness/irritation. Some more than others. There are some coconut oil products I can use and others I cannot. But my bet is that it is the coconut oil causing the hypersensitivity.

They are excellent performers, also the bay rum is a different take on the theme. I didn't know there was more than one formula so I assume I have the new one. I got them a year or two ago.  I think you should try at least one, you can buy samples too.  Men essentials carries it including sample sizes.

Thank you Marko. The new formula I think is more recent but I could be wrong. It is not used for Bespoke. I'm going off Maggard's selection which offers CCXIII and Myrkvior as having the new formula and the others are old formula. Below is what is listed for Myrkvior.

Ingredients:
Vegetable Stearic Acid, Beer, Potassium Hydroxide, Avocado Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Cocoa Butter, Labdanum Absolute (in Sunflower Oil), Whisky, Vanilla Extract, Rose Absolute (in Fractionated Coconut Oil), Cedarwood Essential Oil, Geranium Essential Oil, Orange Extract, Organic Black Spruce Essential Oil, Juniper Leaf / Berry Essential Oil

If I remember correctly, it's not a new formula so much as they tweaked those two formulas specifically for the Myrkvior and CCXII. I believe that they substituted beer for water in the Myrkvior formula and cabernet sauvignon for water in the CCXII formula.

I could be wrong, but I'm feeling....maybe 85% certain on this one.

I will check the labels but there is definitely beer in the Myrkvior Smile Its really nice soap - performs very well.

I've used their CXVII, Spring Street, Merk, Summer Down Under, and Woody Lavender.

I have a tub of Bespoke but haven't used it.

I agree their packaging leaves something to be desired and the wine based didn't really shine for me. But my favorite is their Woody. It's a pleasant scent.

Performance wise, for me they are very creamy. I enjoy the shave.

I've heard that they are modeled off of MDC.

Woody Lavender is the one I'm interested in most. As for their ingredients, they are the same as MdC and probably 100 more artisan soaps on the market, but none of them know what percentages MdC uses. The most similar soap I've found to MdC is LPL, and LPL to me has slightly better performance due to a better post shave. Both are excellent soaps nonetheless.

I have a jar of MDC I've never used. I should probably try it to have the benchmark comparison.

Try it or send it my way..lol. How come you haven't tried it yet? It's a great shaving soap, not my favorite, but definitely a top soap.

I would take a break for at least one shave from the LASSC and try the MdC. Which MdC scent do you have, or is it unscented? Anyway, after you finally try it let me know what you think of it compared to LASSC.
