Whipped Dog Shave brush

Ah I don't have any tools and I'm not going buy any for this, that'd out weigh just being another brush.

I did contact him, was told just to comb it. It tangles every use. Takes 5 minutes ore more to untangle it and pulls out hairs every time. Too much hassle. Badger hair just seems too finicky. It's not as tough as synthetic or boar, I don't get how others don't have tangling problems.

Also not trying to discourage  anyone from buying from him, just want them to know there's s chance of getting s bad brush. I don't think I'll ever try badger again though.

Maybe I'm in the same or similar boat to you it sounds like. I have the Whipped Dog 30mm high mountain badger. It's way too dense for me to get a comb through so that sure doesn't seem like an option to me. But bottom line is I didn't take it as an indictment on Whipped Dog at all, but that I prefer boar and synthetic to badger. Also, 30mm seems to big to be practical, but that's a whole different story.

So I got my brush last week, I think it was. I have to say. That brush is AMAZING! It is so soft yet lots of back bone without being tough and scratchy to my face. So far I've only used it twice. The first was doing a bowl lather using some homemade glycerin based soap with laverndar EO that I make. Whipped up lather quick and easily although I did use a little more water than I am accustomed to, Idk. Still amazing. The second time was face lathering with Shave Revolution The Gentleman which is becoming one of my favorites. Bought from a guy on here and have been loving it immensely, there's something about how it lathers up. Tends to have like a sheen to it or something and the scent is really great. Created loads of lather, more than enough for a three-pass shave, which I tend to do when I have time. I think I did four total passes and a touch up pass at the end to make sure things are as smooth as possible. All in all, I've been loving this brush. The funk went away rather quickly as well. I lathered it with some of that lavender soap and some Henry Cavendish soap I bought from Amazon for a whole day and little to no badger funk remained when I finally used it to shave. I had a High Mountain from Whipped dog that I exchanged for the Silvertip that shed too much. There were no Silvertips in stock at the time. I should have waited. It was scratchy, stunk to high heaven and knotted up in the middle. The silvertip I got from Whipped Dog felt like a baby seal wearing a cashmere sweater snuggling my face. Should have held out for a non shedding Silver Tip.
