Both of these razors are approximately the same overall length, per side by side pictures posted online.
It appears to me that the long handle version of the Mergress would have better balance, since the knob on the XL makes it look heavier at the bottom.
If you have shaved with both versions, I look forward to your feedback. It will help me make a decision on which longer handle version to purchase. Thanks.
