Check out Fine Accountrements newish synthetic. It's $20 ($24.95 w/shipping) and I love it. Cheap and good quality, it is an great introduction to synthetics IMO.

Hi, finally got my synthetic brush. I bought a Edwin jagger light horn xl & I must that its a great brush for me. It lathers great on soap or cream, its soft but with a good backbone that I like. Very happy.

Hi all, I was given a black Satin purest synthetic brush the other day & I have to say this is a great brush it lathers better than my Edwin Jagger brush & feels fantastic on my face. I would recommend it any day. Now I need to try a Plisson or Stirling brush. I have the bug ha ha!

Try the RazoRock Plissoft brush from italianbarber.com. It lathers great, is very soft and you can't beat the price! I think its only $14.99.

Try the synthetics from Whipped Dog. I have a 30mm and it is a lather beast!

I would also chime in for the WD 30mm. One of my favorite synthetics and Larry is a champ to work with...

I also want a RR synthetic but am on the waiting list. Great bargain and solid performer by all reports.

You do have the bug!

The Razorock Plisoft is one of if not the best bargain in all of shaving along with the Stirling Soap synthetic which is also sold out. I'm happy to say that I have both and love them especially Kong.
