When was the last time you got a cut?

Can you remember? This thread is kind of a perspective viewer, for us to all see how far we've come right?  I'm sure many of you have been doing this much longer than I, but I've been wet shaving since about 2013-2014 so a decent amount of time.  

The last time I got cut was when I bought my Karve a couple months ago and I got one with the first shave with the C.  Haven't had one since. I remember when I'd get cut weekly with cartridges and get irritation/razor burn several days on end.  Isn't it amazing how great the shaves are?  I've gotten numerous razors in the past 6 months that I've never been cut with:

No cuts, not one.  When was the last time you got a cut/weeper? Still happen often?  Maybe your shaves have been consistently great for so long you dont even remember?

Dont mean to bump my own thread but I gotta laugh. I reached up just now and noticed something crusty on my face. I carved up a pimple and it must have bled some after the shave and I didnt notice.

Last time I cut myself was Wednesday, May 10, 2017. I took a nice divot out of my chin and had to mop things up with a towel and a bandage. Right after the incident I had to teach a class. Standing at the front of the room with a big bandaid plastered across my face, I kinda felt like something out of Pulp Fiction.

The culprit was a Maggard Slant. That razor taught me to love mild tools.

How do you define “cut”?

Hmm, how would you define it? Define it however you like. For me, anytime I see blood its a cut, even when I hit a bump/pimple. If I'm careful with them I dont see blood, if I am cavalier like I was today apparently, I do.

My last "bad" cut came on July 20, 2020. I was using the RR German 37 slant. I don't remember how or why it happened but it bit a small chunk out of my chin. I can still see a little scar from that cut but it has healed nicely. I'll get minor nicks every now and then but I don't typically note those in my spreadsheet. The slant cut was so bad, it had to be noted.

I am with HoosierShave on this. I only count/note as cuts anything that does not stop leaking within a few seconds. Maskne has caused more problems lately, but true cuts have happened a bit more as I've added some new razors and am learning how they prefer to be used.

I too don’t count weepers as cuts. My last cut was about this time last year. Shaving my neck with a Merkur Futur and got down to the bottom above my collar bone where I decided to slide the razor sideways rather than lift it up. The bleeding wasn’t bad but having to shave off the skin flap the next day because it was wanting to harbor infection wasn’t fun. After I got that flap off it healed quickly and well but boy do I feel sheepish having to share that fiasco.

I got lulled by how easy a shave a couple of weeks ago was, and changed direction without lifting the razor. The new direction was parallel to the blade edge. Glad to feel pain fast, so the cut was not too big!
