FW Holler 6/8 half hollow

Still working on this blade. The edge is a tough nut to crack. Bevel is set well. I can get it very nicely honed up to 10k, with or without tape. It seems to deteriorate after that. Finishing on the Shoubudani type 100 with Mikawa Asano nagura progression caused deterioration, twice, with and without tape. Finishing on a surgical black Arkansas caused deterioration...twice...with and without tape. Finishing on Shoubudani type 100 with water only gave me a nicely finished edge, but lacked some keenness of the edge...with and without tape. The shave is comfortable and "close enough", but not the close shave that I enjoy from my other blades.

I have a Belgian coticule that will be here today or tomorrow. Maybe I can get a solid finish on this blade using that stone? I don't know...just need to keep working with this blade until I figure it out...

Case Red Imp 5/8 near wedge

Flipping incredible shave off this thing. I had previously honed it on an Arkansas stone progression, ending on surgical black, which is always a very decent edge. The last shave with it was feeling a little sluggish to cut. Not quite "tuggy", but sluggish. So I put it on the Naniwa 10k for about 30 laps, and then finished it up on the Soubudani with Mikawa Asano nagura. Whoa, baby! Fantastic shave. Super comfy, and ridiculously close.
