Almond (Valobra Sapone di Crema) benzaldehyde
Benzaldehyde is one of the oldest artificial scents, having been synthesized first by two German chemists in 1832. Its characteristic almond fragrance is used both to flavor foods and to scent candles, creams, and cosmetics. Valobra’s almond soft cream soap makes use of a heavy dose of benzaldehyde, or something very like it. The strength of the almond scent is almost off putting, but the shave this soap gives is magnificent.
