Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Frankincense & Myrrh (Mystic Water) mostly frankincense

This may run counter to the trend that favors lathering Mystic Water soaps on the face, but I find this brand works best for me when I build my lather in a slick little cup. A few months ago, I ordered a stainless steel bol à raser from Le Père Lucien. When it arrived, I was surprised, and a little disappointed, by its diminutive size. At only 3½ inches wide and a couple inches deep, it admits only a smallish brush and makes no more than ½ cup of lather. But what excellent lather, especially when I prime it with a knob of Mystic Water soap. I get fully enough for three dense, glossy passes. My only regret now is that I could have bought the same cup at the Indian market in town for about a third of the price.
