Well I finally have completed my Proraso Collection as I already have the whole Green lineup. It’s one of the musts in my den. First brand I used for the first 5 years of my traditional wet shaving journey and it’s been 23 this yr since I started. Plus being from an Italian family right from the old country almost all the men use the brand. An I finally found the Proraso talc powder refillable container and the powder which is closer to the green in scent. So this was my Superbowl late Sunday night shave. Oh and I prefer the Shave Cream to the soap in this case. I use First Lather unscented or cooling with any
Cream and the combo gets me a great lather.

Seaforth! Fleur de France (Spearhead) powdery rosemary
Shave 19 ・ 89 g left ・ $1.16 / shave

It smells like Clubman, but stronger, like someone turned up the volume on the herby, powdery notes. Perfect for a cool morning, when the air’s got a crisp edge and that whiff of rosemary makes you feel like a Hungarian cavalry officer. The lather? Not as thick as Wholly Kaw’s, but who cares? The blade slid just fine, and I walked away unscathed. That’s victory.

Thanks, everyone, for your tips on blade maintenance. It's the salty air here in the sea shack that turns my metals prematurely red. This week I'll dip my Kai Mild blade in a bottle of alcohol after each shave and let it dry in the open air before replacing it in the razor. I doubt that boozy bath will stop the rust, but it's worth a try.

Ditto Tommy C!   You've got some to-die-for kit there Dave - the IColoniali unobtanium, a beautiful Hydro-magic copy, the Ethos Blood Orange, and last but not least, the Amouage.

Life is looking pretty good!

Thank you Gentlemen, I truly love the iColoniali Scent and wish it lathered like Dragonsbeard Ethos F Base soap but enjoy it for what it is and while I can. The Amouage Sunshine Man pairs so well with it too and is a Beast for strength of scent. A little goes a long way. Have a great day Guys !

There's a blast from the past. Great scent and pretty good base for its era. Miss dfoulk Wish he would rejoin the soap game; he may have been most responsible for the artisanal advances we have all enjoyed these past years. Nobody knew more about the various offerings of soap nor took the effort to educate shavers.

Dave in KY and TommyCarioca I said I’d give it a try as far as getting close to the scent but I still haven’t got samples of the shave soap or the aftershave which would also help me figure the scent out. I’m definitely willing to give it a go.

Wow, we have very different impressions of this soap (aftershave?). To me, both have a very strong geranium/carnation aroma. No citrus whatsoever, no lavender, no powder.

Frankly, I find the aroma somewhat acrid and unpleasant.

Yes I was and apparently it got lost in the mail the gentleman that sent it messaged me a few times wondering if I got the samples but never did and don’t know where it went to. So at the time I think I was all set and didn’t want to deplete your stash but if you want to send a bit I’ll definitely start to work on it. If I remember correctly I think I have the scent notes somewhere which would also help.

Thanks my friend!
