After seeing bop's recent lather shots featuring Ethos soaps, I decided to try to make my lather just as thick and delicious.

I smeared about a quarter teaspoon of soap in my lather bowl (1 gram), and added just a couple of drops of water, which I spread evenly. After a quick shower, I dampened my synthetic brush, shook out most of the water, and began swirling the tips lightly over the soap. I used very little water but a considerable amount of patience.

After a few minutes I had a glorious lather, as dense as anything I’ve made with heavy clay soaps, and rivaling, nearly, the creamy foam bop makes. While it takes some time to build the lather, the process is straightforward. The soap is forgiving as long as you go easy on the water. Considering the quality of the lather, the exotic ingredients, the small amount of soap needed for each save, and the overall joy this experience brings, the soap is well worth the expense ($60/4 oz.). Oh, and the lather is a lovely sight, glistening like a dewy pearl and thick enough to frost a wedding cake.

Thank you Bouki for the feedback and I’m going to try that lathering technique myself as it sounds interesting. And yes Tonka Bean is an expensive aromatic.
