Arran describes Machrie as a fresh mineralic fragrance featuring lavandin and oregano blended with ambergris, mandarin, myrrh, clary sage, and patchouli. I get the lavender and oregano. The rest of the notes are just playing back up. I bought this hard soap on impulse, not knowing the brand, but I found it to be a pleasant surprise. Machrie offers excellent performance, creating a thick vegan lather that’s slick and gives enough cushion for a close one-pass shave. The finish is exceptionally smooth. And the crazy “stone” bowl is going to last forever.
