What soap/cream did you use today?

I’ve been on an AOS Sandalwood kick this week and I’ve not changed.  The stuff just smells awesome.  I believe three days in a row that big ol grated tub of soap got walloped and not surprisingly the scent and performance don’t seem to have tailed off at all.


But today I was missing Vetiver and decided to thump one of the best vetivers on this planet.  Black Tie Razor Company’s Black Velvet.  Finished up with the EdP too.  I smell yummy!

Manna di Sicilia (Saponificio Varesino) bitter woods

It’s no secret that I’m really not crazy about the scent of this soap. The smell off the puck actually burns my nose. But the lather itself smells mild and fairly complex. Along with the bitter woods I’m getting sage and dried flowers. It’s alright, but surely not earth shattering. So why am I sticking with Manna? It makes for a great shave. And what’s more, it pairs pretty well with Encre Noir, one of my favorite colognes at this time of the year when the days grow short and night broods over us for many a long hour.
